But we come to the songs:
City Lights: -
a typically crisp Schenkersong in prime Armed And Ready style with a brilliant guitar melody at the beginning and yes there he is again - the irrepressible Gary Barden with its unmistakable, very own style of singing - exactly Schenker awarded in early days
Competition:
One of the highlights - one of the best party rocker that Michael wrote for Doctor, Doctor.
I Want You:
Strong chorus - very melodic, another catchy tune.
End Of Line: Reminds a little of Deep Purple or Rainbow
Summer Days:
Another highlight of the disc; class semi-ballad in the style of rock Will Never Die
A Night To Remember:
Again a highlight - absolutely Gänsehautriff, hard drifting very easily meldodiösen ballad tinged chorus. Such songs could just write Michael with Gary Barden. Stark!
Come Closer:
Bard sings really great - reminds me of the style of singing something to Attack Of The Mad Axeman, very strong solo by Michael
Wings Of Emotion:
Hard pounding midtempo, slightly bluesy vocals and from the chorus has a mystical touch
Na Na:
And again a really good catchy, but lost without the typical Schenkerklassikrockflair goes. Great mystical inspired vocal melody!
I Am The One: class guitar riff from Michael, otherwise average
Ride On My Way:
Threesomes, very melodic rockers,
The Cross Of Crosses:
Something Song average - not bad but it is not just a skin from the stool.
The production is okay, but could be better - for very large production probably lacked the money. Somewhat surprising but nevertheless, as producer and guitarist Siggi Schwarz and his sound engineer Romi Schickle in its projects (Michael Schenker is always there) always have a very good sound.
Conclusion: A good - very good Michael Schenker album that although it has a few small weaknesses, but do not detract from the good overall impression.
