We knew that the Nazis were crazy; sadism, racism, megalomania, obsession, paranoia, fanaticism. We discover in this book they were even more than previously thought. He had little in their crimes are even more terrible. Fortunately a few brave men among whom Felix Kersten allowed to save some of mankind.
Felix Kersten was one of particular doctors Henrich Himmler, the head of the Gestapo and number 2 in the Nazi pig. Felix Kersten, who was the only one who can relieve pain unbearable Himmler by special massages (hence the title of the book, the hand of the miracle) could exercise great influence and have access to some of the best kept secrets of the Reich. He could have the medical record of Hitler, "King of Fools, which instead of wearing a straitjacket, had the blood of peoples to feed sets his dementia."
We find in this book some of the wacky and criminal projects that were not the Fuhrer prevented by a miracle. Thus Hitler had expected "the mass deportation of the Dutch people in Poland in Lublin procince" because the Dutch "were traitors to their race" and too attached to "a queen and a enjuivée democracy." Jospeh Kessel explains how this monstrous project could be narrowly avoided.
Yet we discover how was foiled a plan to starve "dozens of millions" of French. It was for that "to grab the black market all food products" by paying with gold or silver coins. Again the action of Felix Kersten allowed to slow down and then stuck the project.
We also learn that in the last months of the war, "Hitler had given strict orders to Himmler to blow up with dynamite, with all the prisoners they contained, the concentration camps, as soon as the enemy s' would be approached eight kilometers. " So any traces of the Holocaust would have been erased. Yet we find in the book how Felix Kersten could derail this monstrous project.
Moreover Felix Kersten, could insistence to get the life force to save hundreds of other innocent people.
So this is an exceptional story, written by a great writer and absolutely unparalleled. He introduced the tall spères of Nazism and humanity sheds light on one of the most horrific moments in history.
