Customer Review

Since I was never really happy with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, I had decided to that a new high-end smartphone is needed. The selection was not very big: Samsung Galaxy S3, HTC One X, LG 4X HD. I tended initially strongly for One X, have me but then due to various negative reports on the One X but decided on the LG 4X HD. That was the best decision I've met:

Design / Processing:
The pictures on the Internet and because of various reviews I was only a bit skeptical what to expect with this phone. Again and again I had to stuff like "cheap plastic", "boring Design" or read "too fat".
But after the first unpacking I could not understand all these negative points. The gap dimensions are perfect. The column itself is extremely small, something I have seen in any other smart phone before. The LG is great in the hand and feels very valuable. The chrome frame and this diamond optics from frames make what ago. The battery cover is secure and has no game. It creaks and absolutely nothing. The back feels anything but cheap to, ok it is plastic, but by this "Riffel Design" it looks absolutely not cheap. Who wants to have a plastic Brummer without accents should resort to Samsung ... speak from experience. My Galaxy Nexus was pure Plastikbomber! Gaps by far not so good. The HTC One X, I could also in the business compare watched my opinion of not so nice because of the bulky shape and the boring plastic housing. A little more variety of materials such as the HTC One S have the X not harmed.
The shape of the LG 4X is a matter of taste. Some like-edged mobile's other more rounded. I had both and have to say that my square LG is better because this is significantly better in the hand. While it siehts in the photos very "retro", but in real it looks much better.
For thickness from the phone I can not say anything negative, on the contrary, it is much flatter as my old Galaxy Nexus. Compared to the Galaxy S3 nothing (LG 8.9mm vs S3 8,6mm) take the two.

Power:
Now that I've played around two days with plenty of the phone, I'm just blown away by the performance. I had now given up hope of a completely judder Android. But LG has actually done it. The animations are smooth as silk, and all applications will open immediately and nachezu delay. Games run all liquid, but the good one should indeed expect at 4 cores also ... What is, however, I noticed the phone is very warm playing, hope that this does not become a problem. But this probably does not seem to be unusual in the current high-end devices.

Display:
This is for me the absolute highlight of this smartphone. One thing first: I already can compare some devices, including my Galaxy Nexus which has the same resolution, however, has on AMOLED technology sets. I'm glad that I switched to LCD. The manufacturing tolerances in AMOLED displays are a horror, you must deal with things such as color casts, color gradients, burn-in effects and afterglow content. The HD resolution of the current AMOLED devices is just window dressing, because there is still no Amold HD display with RGB matrix. All current device (Galaxy Nexus, S3) have a Pentile matrix. Who made experience with this technology-oriented has what I mean. Ausgefranzte edges and problems with color display (gray) are the consequences of this Pentile matrix.
So now back to the LG True HD display. The "True HD" stands for LG for true 720p resolution with RGB matrix. Thus, the LG 4X HD and HTC One X are (also HD RGB matrix) currently offer the only devices which the full 720p resolution. And that becomes apparent when you look at the display. The sharpness is just overwhelming, thought not to get better, because the Galaxy Nexus was quite sharp despite Pentile matrix. But the court can still beat. The readability in strong points of view is very good, as LG uses an IPS panel. There is also no color shifts when viewed from the angle of the dispaly is usual with an AMOLED display. The black level can be compared with any naturally Display AMOLED because LCDs have now times in the cold, but he is very good for an LCD dispaly. It is also gratifying that nice neutral color reproduction, it is not all extremely colorful and overridden as AMOLED and not yellowish like the HTC One X. HTC One X display probably wanted to be a little warmer-operation. Due to the negative response in various forums, the shot went well backfires. Here you have to praise definitely LG that they have kept the colors neutral and natural. If you like loud and exaggerated colors, should resort to AMOLED ... My case is not. The dispaly is for me currently the reference! This is confirmed by various reports.

At points such as battery life, software stability and reception I can say at the moment nothing, because I have the equipment nor too short. But I will REPLACE an update. But one thing I can say, the Optimus UI 3.0 is beautifully designed and thought through before. I'm actually a fan of pure vanilla Android, but so far I'm very pleasantly surprised. So far I had no crashes. For me, the software looks mature, LG has time left much more time. Well done !!

So buy, buy and buy again !! Price / performance is probably second to none at the moment. For me, the best smartphone currently on the market.

Update 1:
Here is the promised update.
The battery lasts about 2 days with me on average. With me always-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G is on! Also various things are almost hourly synchronized. In my opinion, a very good value, especially for me as a hardcore user (games, Internet surfing, emails, etc ...). With my old smartphone I just came through for 1 day. Oh yes, the software update on V10b has also brought out a little battery life. Before there were approximately 1.5 days ago.
If you turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc., little phone and regular overnight use the flight mode, provides you guaranteed 3-4 days. In Flight mode, the phone consumes almost no battery. I have tested it overnight (about 8 hours), the indicator has moved not just great !! percent :-)

On the subject of software stability and bugs I can still say anything negative. No bugs, crashes, reboots, freezes or the like.

The reception is just great. I can very well compare with my Galaxy Nexus, which already from from home with the current radio firmware had excellent reception. The LG 4X is receiving technical after GNEX in nothing, is therefore at least as good. The voice quality is very good, I have so far can not detect any noise, noise, etc..

So I am still very satisfied with the device and may still rarely leave it alone ;-) That I had with any other smartphone, the euphoria had dissipated usually after a few days. In this case, I'm more excited every day.
