I was allowed to test the Gillette Body as part of a market research project. And I have received the Gillette Body Shavers and a packet of blades. The accompanying shaving I ironically received as part of another research project - including even a Gillette shaver Body. Gillette seems to spend an insane budget to force in this market niche.
First impressions were mixed - the ergonomic grip makes no question that the razor is very good in the hand. Startled, I was about the low weight - thus the Gillette Body is very cheap (which it probably is in the making). On the other hand, it is me fallen off in recent weeks in the shower several times and still shows no signs of wear.
Now for hair: The Gillette Body has (only) 3 blades, between which there are so-called Lubrastripes. These ensure that the razor glides easily over the skin. Due to the relatively large distances between the blades, the shaver can be cleaned super fast, "clog" the blades so not with hair. This is undoubtedly one of the biggest benefits for me compared to a normal face shaver. The cutting performance is satisfactory. Not remarkable, but not bad either. He plucks not but it is also no revelation to my previous shaver.
I've shaved me with a 5-blade razor from Morning Glory in the shower and will probably continue to do so after using up the rest of Gillette Body-blades. The price / performance at Gillette is a huge gripe for me in all its products. The performance is for me out of all proportion to the price. The 5-blade razor from Morning Glory even cut a bit better, but it can be not so easy to clean. As the saying goes: other fish in the beautiful daughters.
