I have long been taken only original cartridges for my printer predecessor Pixma IP 3200. Then I switched for reasons of cost to refill cartridges incl. Chip. That worked well. But it was supposed to go even cheaper. So I got myself out of the discounter a two-pack cartridges with 1 replaceable chip. The assembly of the chips was a bad fisselige and messy business. The printer does not recognize the cartridge then to make matters worse and after a few attempts, he realized the cartridge, but could not show the level. As this cartridge was empty and I changed the chip in order to insert the new, the trouble started in earnest. The printer does not recognize the cartridge and when I took out the cartridge to re-insert, half the color ran out from the container. That was the "off mark" for this printer. Nothing was more.
So buy new printers and now the first cartridge was empty. I did not hesitate long and bought the original cartridge. I find it not nice that the content "shrunk", but is just not going to change.
But it's nice: old cartridge out, new clean and everything is running like new again. The printer recognizes the cartridge, displays the level, prints clean and keep your hands clean.
So I give in the future rather more money and spare me the trouble with the "Fake cartridges".
