Time to hear a slightly different kind of music

I fell through the SkyGo advertising with the "Bone Conduction" technology in the interest to inform me more about this technique. Consequently, I quickly came to the company "Aftershokz" and find this idea terrific.

Unfortunately, my skepticism was also correspondingly great because I was standing between two sides of the reviews. On the one hand it works ... on the other hand, I found statements "There are only speakers".

After long works, I then ordered me to have said matter and also tested these things without those times before. In the following review I key the properties individually.

Packing:
The packaging was kept quite small and includes the most necessary to make the product safe to be able to send. This is a carrying case, a USB dongle for charging, the product contained, a short extension cable for the jack, which is designed for normal MP3 player, a fairly short and self-evident operating instructions and a card. The cards I was very pleasantly surprised, because on the one note is that one on their website a lifetime warranty on workmanship gets when registering. Without additional payment or additional insurance. In itself awesome, hopefully the thing never gets broken. Could have it quiet in the product description mentioned.

Processing:
The temple is quite pliable and for normal ('m 1,73 m tall) to slightly larger heads (A friend of mine 1.93 m tall) good to wear. For smaller heads the bracket always bobs up and down which I certainly could imagine as a nuisance to me. The pads are made of rubber and you can tell where that they are in a relatively sweat and water resistant.

Due to the round shape of the ear pads sit, giving the music to the bone, relatively fixed. For eyeglass wearers, this could be a little uncomfortable but can report to no experience, because I do not wear.

The cable see my view of unstable. These give the impression as if one could quickly cause a cable break, if you are not careful to handle it, or even pull it vigorously.

The intermediate part, where you can turn on the device, the microphone and the battery are tuned is also a little "hard". I would not drop the part and can catch the cable want. Top each ran times the attached clippers to a garment insert (collar or so). For the part but also holds then quite stable.

The cable extends at least from the strap up to your pocket and still has some wiggle room. If necessary, the short extension cord there's (about 10 cm so really short), to expand the scope.

When battery perhaps many eyebrows will go up and it is now standard that the power supply from the smartphone or the playback medium comes. The battery recharges through the USB dongle, which offers an input to RCA connection. May sound annoying that you constantly need to charge their device but the term of the manufacturer 16 hours. I'm still on my first charge and have probably already heard more than 16 hours with that thing (because I use this even when working and for the worst-case scenario for the ears colleagues have open. the most important criterion (Sound):

Well the sound is such a story, where you have to take into account aspects with. One must be aware that it is in the headphones to any Sony or Bose quality and therefore can not expect that kind of music. The sound sounds to me muffled and bass is extremely weak. But we are speaking in this case of a technique called bone conduction line. The headset actually go on the bone and not (at least not primarily) on the eardrum. I tested the hard two hearing impaired people whose eardrums are no longer fully intact, and even were able to listen to music. Small volumes are entirely sufficient to listen to music. I was all very pleasantly surprised I must admit.

I just experimental way my ears shut times with earplugs and could see that I could perceive an incredibly clear sound in spite of everything. The aim is indeed to listen to music with headphones and perceive its environment.

The goal was thus achieved in each case and that even very good! I suppose the true environment much clearer, can talk to people, do sports and all that even quite sure. No longer when a cyclist suddenly shoots past or the like from behind surprises. I think everyone knows these situations.

Conclusion:
Who likes to do sports, wants to preserve his eardrums or simply passing wishes to exercise its environment I think happy with this product.
Unfortunately, at high volume, the music outside Recognizable. On the train or in public places then others can already hear, which is quite disturbing. For smaller volumes to the holding but limited to the handset.

In addition, the quality of the sound greatly suffers from an excessive volume. But not really the intention.

All in a still 4 stars because it does the job and the price / performance ratio are already well matured on the basis of technology and the young product group. Only on the processing of the cable could still do something but otherwise a good product.
