Now only operation. That's a bit unusual, but quite easy to handle. There is a longitudinal recess on the front of the lamp base. It is almost hidden a small red light. These lights discreetly and without the hassle dazzle, which is ready for the lamp. A slight pressure on it, and the lamp is immediately without delay their light freely. Now they have the option of either slow to change from the left to go back to press on the depression to light in 7 steps or right. Or take a finger slowly to the right or left of the recess along and the light intensity is changed. And the highlight lamp remembers the exact setting when you turn off. So, there is no hassle to readjust when you turn.
Now comes the most important, the light emitted. The 9 Watt LED (equivalent to 60 watt bulb) sitting behind a matt protective glass and has on the front side cooling holes. I could not detect any heat on protective glass after a long operating time. The emitted light is shadow and stain free. The footprint is therefore over the entire illuminated surface uniformly bright and there are no hard edges. The color temperature is 5500K with - stated 6000K (Kelvin). This means almost bright white light, so typical office light. As a bedside lamp, I would not recommend it because you would rather uses where warm lamps, about 2000K - 3300K.
In principle, the desk lamp would have earned 5 stars, but I do not like so well, that is forbidding 1 watt of power in standby approx. Likewise, you could have done without power supply to the external 12 Volt. Where you would have all the electronics in the lamp base can incorporate. This could install a proper on / off switch.
The bottom line, I would recommend the TaoTronics 9W dimmable LED desk lamp with a clear conscience. Well priced they will find nothing comparable with these features.
