Works great to no mess. After using for this purpose you should dab the top with paper towel so that the ink does not remain in the needle and dries.
The plug cap for the needle tip is made of silicone (or at least a similar material), a perfect seal and also provides a useful buffer for the hard tip. The cap I find worth mentioning because I expected plastic and significantly increases the material actually delivered for me the practical value.
