Something positive only: The songs are precise as usual, you can even hear the bass out pretty good and the voice has become even better, the lyrics are interesting and mitlesenswert, the drums sound great.
That was unfortunately the positives. Now the negatives:
Even after the fifth time by listening to just two songs have me stuck in my ear: "Necropolis" (in my opinion the best song) and "I will return", where "I will return" really only because of the unusual length and the relatively simple BDM and atypical, catchy home or outros.
The rest of the songs sounds kind of boring, uninspired and barely melodic. Every now and then a nice solo, sometimes a very cool part, but not more, and that's just too little for a whole album of such a brilliant band.
The absolutely stunning on the previous album "Nocturnal" lead guitar has in "Deflorate" seemingly Sendepause (bye-bye Kempainen). It just gets stuck nothing, the guitars sound simplistic and unexciting despite firmer speed and great craftsmanship. There is no definition parts with brand recognition; you sit after the last song Unbelievers and wonders: "That was all Where are the firecrackers?"
I can not find creative Hammer songs like its predecessor "Nocturnal" á la "What a horrible night to have a curse" (Walzer-clock, lyrics about the computer game "Castlevania", one of the most brilliant chorus parts of all time), "Deathmask divine" , "Nocturnal" or "I worship only ...". What a shame, and I had been looking forward to ... well, maybe the next album will indeed get better.
My favorite album of BDM is and remains, however, the debut "Unhallowed". Wonderful, imperfect production, a rough diamond in the rough, black, brutal and uncompromising.
Despite the (in my opinion) unsuccessful new album I'll give me the guys in January (for the 4th time) live.
