TomTom Start 60 Europe Traffic navigation system (15 cm (6 inch) display, TMC, lane and parking assist, IQ Routes, Favorites, Europe 45) (Electronics) 4
As part of the special offer Action Amazon I have the TomTom Start 60 bought for 159. With regard to delivery, a power cord for the outlet would have been nice (I'm not a fan of charging via USB). The Navi is a good example of "Unpack and get started." The criticized in some test reports (supposedly hard-to-install) mount I can not confirm. The sucker will attach itself quickly and reliably at the wheel firmly and can be solved as easily again. Still is for mounting on the dashboard with an adhesive pad, which is not out of the question for me. Fears of preliminary tests that the Navi might be too large, not confirmed: Does the device in your hand yet powerful, it integrates, once installed, well into the cockpit and not diminished visibility (Skoda Roomster). Originally I wanted to buy the Navigon 42 Plus, but if you drove only a short time with the TomTom, a different Navis come downright tiny ago. Due to the large screen, the navigation can be controlled very well, typos are virtually eliminated. Although some complain that there is no Multitouchbedinung: It reveals itself to me is not what it should be useful in a Navi. The device has a Navi and not a smartphone - important here are a stable software, an easy to read and easy to use - all of these points satisfies the TomTom well. For route guidance per se: To place a representative judgment here you would have to leave half of Europe - the routes that I'm so far down (urban and rural) mastered the TomTom sovereign (but here actually messes no manufacturer more). The voice is clear and easy to understand, the display of the route rich in contrast and easy to read (even in strong sunlight). The announcement of street names is nice but it interferes with the "long" name (eg "ST 2431 Münchner Straße") - just the street name would be better here. I am one of those people who would rather be guided by a female voice - but the spoken street names are only in the male voice there. Anyone looking for a simple navigation to get from A to B, makes nothing. Speed limits are displayed on toll is already indicated in the route planning. The antenna for TMC is integrated into the 12V charger. This may seem practical, but restricts the possibilities for accommodation. What I noticed is negative: I park my car in the garage. Until the TomTom will connect to the GPS satellites, it can take a long time (up to 3-5 Minunten). Tip: The Navi asks if it should use the last known position - confirm this message, then the GPS signal is found much faster.
Conclusion: Who has ever driven with the "big" screen, do not want to miss him. Beautifully a bag and a lifetime map update service would have been - but at the price that will probably remain a pipe dream ;-) I would recommend the Navi without hesitation, but find the price with kanpp 190 in the face of Konkurzenz a bit too high.
Addendum: I had brought the Navi on vacation and it has piloted me super through Austria, Switzerland and Italy (even into the deepest hinterland). What it can to make it great: bring the motorist without detours to your destination.
