After a lot of works (hopefully I can give you the trouble by my review spare), I found this HDMI Matrix and other Wingoneer products under other brand names, such as "Goobay" at Contrad and Alternate. There seems to be a Polish manufacturer.
That the device can operate at the end of a 50m HDMI cable without problems a projector, I can not confirm.
Directly from my Samsung Blu-Ray player to the projector of my high-end "Oehlbach Real Matrix MKII" cable Full HD 1080p picture arrived without problems. I turned but the 6x2 HDMI Matrix in between, no more image arrived at the projector. At first I thought the HDMI Matrix does not work, but looked after further testing, it was with a 2 meter HDMI cable without any problem.
The good news is that the problem 100% could be solved with an HDMI Repeater. Have the drive your dream "Ligawo HDMI cable Amplifier Repeater" in addition ordered and mounted at the end of the HDMI cable. After the image but only came to perfect ...... with power supply, which was not included! When Conrad I've been told that the only HDMI Repeater up to 10m without PSU good for something. Regardless of purchased power supply at Contrad and now everything is going great!
I have now connected the following devices:
- TechniSat Full HD satellite receiver
- Samsung Full HD Bluray Player / Receiver
- Apple TV
- Google Chrome Quantcast
- Playstation 3
- HTPC (does not work 100%, but is not on the HDMI Matrix)
The 2 outputs on HDMI Matrix go to a Toshiba 42 "Full-HD televisions and a Full HD projector from BENQ. Both the image comes perfectly, with zero faults. So I am very satisfied. The risk department has therefore worth. ;-)
The TOSLINK output also works perfectly. However, have only my satellite receiver tested (in Bitstream mode), and since everything is perfect - DD5.1 Surround Sound via HDMI 6x2 Matrix my -> Samsung Bluray receiver, clear out listening.
For PIP feature to select the input is not much to say. Seems to work, but I do not need, and is therefore not used by me.
To not 100% functional HTPC (ATI Radeon HD 3200) Source - delivery reposition far only 1 time for all (on the TV, on the HTPC, the matrix) - do not know when and why it eventually works. Has also directly to the TV does not work at first, but seems to be a Windows 8 driver problem because I get to see the BIOS information at boot time, and the Windows logo ..... only after the driver is loaded, it is dark.
To confirm this, I tested 2 other laptops:
- Macbook Pro Retina (Intel Pro Iris & NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M)
- Windows 7 laptop (Intel HD Graphics 3000)
Both laptops have just mentioned, the output to the projector and TV worked simultaneously without problems .... So it seems actually more of a problem with my windows to be 8 HTPC. But no matter, it's enough for me my HTPC to use directly to the TV.
Another clue. The packaging was very thin. Looked more like an OEM product ...... but which has no influence on the function!
So for me, the device is good - *****. It is only necessary if you want to use an HDMI cable is greater than 20m (perhaps 10m), then it works only with HDMI Repeater with power supply.
UPDATE (22/07/2014): After 11 days of further use, I noticed a few things:
- I can not look at two outputs HD + channels my satellite receiver. Since the image is black. But if I Output B switch to another input, then HD + works on Output A without any problems. ARD HD and ZDF HD always work, even if this input is sent to both outputs. Has something to do with the HD + encryption.
- Even with the HDMI amplifier I have occasionally misfire on the long road to 20m Beamer. But is perhaps the HDMI repeater / amplifier. If I turn down from 1080p to 1080i, the problem is eliminated (the MacBook Pro laptop, and the satellite receiver has been the case). I will continue to monitor and write an update when I have better understood the problem. On television itself (just 2m cable, instead of 20m), there are no dropouts, even at 1080p.
- Leave my review still at 5 stars, until I'm sure where the 1080i / 1080p problem lies. Basically, yes everything works as I need it, because I always just either + watch the projector or TV HD, and not at both outputs simultaneously. The 1080i / 1080p problem is unsightly, but can I still live with degrees. I hope I find a solution soon to do so. An inexpensive alternative to this 6x2 unit I eh not found, so I have probably live with it. ;-)
