The red dot in the center indicates that the pan is hot enough. Attention: without oil you can bake anything here or fry. I've painted oil. This has already been enough. The handle does not get hot. The workmanship is top quality and nothing wobbles, despite multiple usage. We have used it on ceramic and on normal electric oven. Went smoothly. Cleaning was also easy. We have done it in the dishwasher.
