In and of itself the TRRS adapter does the job wholeheartedly. Perhaps you already had a similar problem: More and more providers of headset devices (professional, car, leisure) use instead of engineering of the original Nokia standard Vierpin-polarity (of the 3.5mm jack plug tip (T = tip) on the center part (R = ring) to the shaft (S = Sleeve) for: L (stereo signal left), R (stereo right), Mic (microphone); ground (GND) where that is the mass always on the shaft was (TRRS with S = GND), the of of Apple completely sinnfrei and probably only commercial interest (excluding non-licensed headset third party etc.) created and now established APPLE Vierpin polarity (L, R, GND, Mic) so where instead of as before no longer the mass on shaft was but now the microphone layout (also TRRS with S = Mic), hence all the old headset Vierpin polarities are not compatible with Apple and must be replaced by often expensive licensed new purchases! Because, unfortunately Samsung in SGS still the old standard followed (the Apple vs. competition Samsung is likely to be known) so fit most stereo headphones included headset (in my case: Monster Cable Diesel VEKTR black), which are aligned to the Apple standard not really the music enjoyment on Samsung SGS together (distorted, much too faint sounds, microphone function missing, when you press the removal button on the headphone cord, the music is excellent, but still no microphone support, because this is indeed used on the Samsung as a mass and not as a micro). I have so therefore these two TRRS adapter worried and tried this in combination Samsung Galaxy S + Diesel VEKTR. And lo and behold, everything worked flawlessly, music quality top, microphone headset included full availability also, everything super! Well, unfortunately, stopped the joy due to the still very inferior quality of the built-wire cable is not very long. After about 2 weeks of daily use (Running, Fahhrad, bus, metro ...), it came to smaller cable breaks which I had the cable in some places (particularly interface connectors to cable transition) fix with heat-shrinkable tubing, then we went back for a little more than 3 weeks, after which the cable was be final through. After I had dissected literally, I have found that while the receptacles are covered with rose gold-jacket, which speaks to the device or headphones for a good signal Veit transfer of the latch, but the conductor wire is not much thicker than a hair. Thus, the loose contacts quickly occur are explained. Conclusion: Technically super invention with market potential (assuming the majority, the underlying problem at all understand), but in the production of the manufacturer slightly more robust lead wire shall vervenden with more solid version, but I would also be prepared a considerable price (max. 30) to pay. So highly recommended for listening in bed or on the sofa, not just for outside, or in the Mucki-Bude! ready
