Runs on USB 2.0 with no problems, but too slow to push data - clear.
Hard disk is formatted in FAT. If I have the same times changed to NTFS.
The board now hangs 3.0 controller to a Transcend USB. Had I x8 only in the graphics card slot. But reaches max. 50 MB / s. Taken the x1 slot. Now I have transfer rates between 90 and 120 MB / s.
After 8 hours shift 2TB data (114000 files) Temp 53 degrees (22 ° room). Hard drive is released to 60 ° C. Therefore, everything's alright.
Datasheet there the way here (if a ST3000DM001 is installed - still have heard nothing else): [...]
If you want to expand the hard disk should also look at the best pictures. Just to the side with a thin knife in and pry upward. There are up and down on the long sides each 3 clips (12 pieces total). Then, the plate and the controller Unscrew and remove.
In order you can intern with 3TB to use the board as a whole in the Disk Management
Click on the disk and this switch to GPT and format. Already one has ne partition 2,72TB.
Some comments that the USB cable is loose something - I can confirm this. Since the internal controller is not seated to the connector directly on the housing, it can easily happen that the cable does not have 100% contact and the hard drive is not found.
Transfer rates with HD Tune measured:
Internal ST3000: min. 94,5mb / s max. 211mb / s avg. 162mb / s access 15,1ms burst 206,2mb / s
External ST3000: min. 88,5mb / s max. 136,1mb / s avg 128.3 MB / s access 15.1 ms burst 136.8 MB / s
Accessories: AC adapter about 4x8x3cm, 1m USB cable
Housing glossy top, front and sides
On / Off Switch available.
I can recommend the full board and hope that it runs the next few years.
