The device is now over one month in use with numerous plus points, but unfortunately two main criticisms:
++ Very solid workmanship, high quality
++ Great haptic
++ Hinges are very high and stable, the different usage modes function properly
++ Very fast in all applications
++ Great service I use now often both: keyboard and monitor in parallel
++ After some getting used to the keyboard, it writes quickly. However, pressure point could be a little better
++ Orange color looks great, great contrast to the usual black and silver laptops
++ Display is flawless, high contrast, reflects little
++ Tablet mode is functioning properly. Understandably, the computer is heavier than a pure tablet.
Overall a great Ultrabook what convinced the tablet modes. Especially the flexibility normal to use the device at a desk as laptop and then relaxed to surf on the sofa in the tablet mode, or to view images and movies, sure.
BUT: Two main criticisms lead to a devaluation of 3 stars. If you can not resolve them, actually, only 1 Star:
- The fan is really unusual loud and constantly in operation. In my view, it goes, but actually would have to do a better job here Lenovo. The BIOS patch in February helped apparently limited.
- Much more important point of criticism: Problems with WLAN functionality.
The wireless functionality has a significant weakness in the connection stability. In (too) regularly Ultrabook loses connection to the WLAN, although the router (current Fritz box) is located in direct line of sight range (= 4m). An incorrect configuration is excluded, as are parallel 3 other devices in the WLAN and these problems do not have (iPad, iPhone, Thinkpad laptop). The Yoga 13 does not detect the wireless network often simply or loses its connection and these can not then be restored easily. You can only restore when almost next door or turns "on" the router, the flight mode on and off again and again so is sought for wireless networks. But that does not work at distances> 3m, from my experience.
That's more than annoying: it is an Ultrabook, ie no LAN network connection. As you can already expect that, if you get up off the couch and 6m with the laptop goes into the kitchen, does not break the network connection - especially if visual contact is to the router.
In the beginning I still put athletic, but after doing some research on forums is clear that there apparently is a Flaw in the WLAN driver design. Lenovo has in spite of repeated criticism in user forums and the private Lenovo Forum for months (min. Early 2013) has not yet improved. You could already be described as ignorant, especially at a computer for the Lenovo 1500 Euro takes.
FAZIZ:
Great Ultrabook Convertible, class processes and the implementation of the modes-change is very well done. I enjoy working with it, only the fan is too loud and va must Lenovo find a solution to the wireless problem, otherwise the device does not make sense.
Therefore, by me only limited recommendation, so long as the two issues were not resolved by Lenovo.
