When I opened the Amazon box, the first disappointment.
Where is the chic glossy black jewelry box go?
Where the kick in the sight of the red velvet fixed with red bow MEDUSA?
A cheaper transparent Plastikblister sticking out of a colorful printed cardboard ... well.
At least there is the Blister of two, not parts welded together,
so I'm injury free at my MEDUSA.
The 4 3,5mm plug clean sorted with additional protective caps (which are new) anchored in the blister,
the USB connector without a cap, what the heck.
The rest of the long cable (3.80m) runs in an additional cardboard box where I suspect the cable adapter.
Here is the second disappointment.
Where are the beautiful 3 RCA => 3.5mm jack adapter hidden CORRECT have been saved.
Since this is my 3rd MEDUSA I naturally still 2 set of the parts, but what 1.Käufer?
To the head set on Dolby amplifier to connect to as I enjoy "The Lord of the Rings" in suuuper loud Dolby,
without that the neighborhood gets afraid of the orcs, these adapters are indispensable.
Here also a USB AC adapter is actually necessary!
MEDUSA get out of the plastic-reproach and up to the ears ...
Something different!
The old (defective) Medusa ago and lo and behold ...
Not only the colors are different (mussels are now black instead of silver-black) also
the padding around the ears has become a bit harder and narrower.
But what really is different: The located on a flexible arm microphone is total
become shorter by 30mm (180mm on 150mm from the joint).
When you play for many years with this headset that is immediately apparent.
I can not really turn in front of the mouth, the Micro,
but it is now left side.
I hope my Battlefield3 opponents I taunt still hear me decently in Team-Speak.
First Sound tests are satisfactory but super.
In the game (BF3), crystal-clear sound and great bass, for example in the tank you feel really the "oomph".
Opponents can be super places.
Videos I've now just "The Matrix", "The Lord of the Rings (the Companions)" tested and Stargate on the computer
and am still thrilled with this headset!
One hears in the matrix hallway scene really the cartridge cases plinkern behind.
Music is also really great.
Some reviews (eg Game-Star; PC Games Hardware) complain about the sound quality of music.
Come into my eyes (ears) complete rubbish, the bass (loud) clean and the highs are crystal clear.
For processing of course I can not say anything at the new MEDUSA NX.
Only that I, despite the new model number (SBK-02 instead of SBK-01) except for the shorter micro-Arm,
No design changes are noticed.
2 years old can "THIS" Medusa still have not, since this is sold only since April 14 2011 su.
I hope now time that the reasons why I bought the 3rd Medusa are now eliminated.
At the first Medusa which the amplifier box, has become the glued woofers on the left
dissolved and caused a terrible clatter.
With a hot glue gun and some skill but this was quickly resolved
and after a cable break a few months later I had to order my second Medusa.
The second Medusa me then the headband is broken on the left just above the joint.
That probably seems the "Knack" to be point of this reason, a work colleague even bought the third Medusa.
I guess I bought the Speedlink Medusa for the third time speaks for itself.
I am still enthusiastic about the super sound!
One star deduction for packaging, fewer accessories and shorter microphone boom.
