The device I have almost "blind" order because the device is only a few weeks on the market and you still nowhere could read a test or assessment. Even if I could nocht test too long, I'd like to describe my first impressions :-)
_________________ CONSTRUCTION:
The Stand supplied must be mounted easily. it is the joint between the foot and mount the TV unit, rotate it to the right until it clicks. Then you fixed the whole bottom by simply using two screws. Then the whole of the back is pushed on a kind of track on the device and fastened from behind with 4 screws.
_________________ OPTICS:
The LED has a very thin bezel with a brushed metal finish (not described here at Amazon brushed metal!). The lower edge is obliquely backwards in mirror optics, which also shows a different color from bottom edge depending on the color of the substrate. For me, in this case black - chic! The glass plate of the pedestal looks chic and is far less than the usual collecting dust black pedestal in piano finish. All in all, the device looks very high.
_________________ REMOTE CONTROL:
Building in the typical style of Toshiba. Very clear and well understood. Although it seems a bit clunky than my 42XV635D that it is easier and is surprisingly comfortable to hold. Only the two control crosses superimposed are "blind" something bad to use, but not worth mentioning. Batteries are included (2x AA)

Thanks almost automated process The setup provides little margin for error. Also move the transmitter to the desired numbers is easy and only a little time consuming, but not too complicated. The network installation runs almost automatically and it must be changed manually nothing.

I'm certainly no expert and television usually has since quite a subjective perception. However, I find the picture quality really good. I can compare only with my previous device (Toshiba XV635D), but since you already notice the contrasts better come much to bear. The dark tones displayed far richer. Here appears the Active Backlight "to make a good job. When installing scheinten from the 4 corners of the screen even brighter beam gen center which looked ugly. In normal use, says TV, PS3 and BluRay was nothing more to see of this then. On the contrary, , especially in combination with the PS3 console, the device offers a crisp and detailed presentation without cause for criticism. In addition, with me still the T-Home Receiver in operation, which brings in the HD channels really an image level which equate with a Bluray is.
_________________ 3-D IMAGING (UPDATE: 27-05-2012):
To use this is an (expensive) Toshiba Shutter Glasses (costs EUR 60-80, -) required that is not included. And finally I was able to test this time. As with pretty much all LCD / LED devices sound even here is acceptable, but not terrific. For me, this point is not as crucial as I connected a 5.1 surround sound system. This also makes sense for TV devices from 46 inch screen size, since one then only can shew a true home theater. As I said for the normal "TV look sufficient, but whoever emphasis look at Video Game & BluRay should better connect a facility.
_________________ INTERNET FEATURES:
As already described the network during initial installation is to set without the big one would have to spend on what technical skill.
With switched network function you have the possibility to access a more detailed EPG menu. Even movies, TV shows or series that you missed, can thus get up to 8 days. Moreover, one can "use or over Toshiba Places" a customized YouTube sign in to Facebook, download movies (with Acetrax, Maxdome, etc.) or music. Certainly nice features to offer you at the present time (Social Network & Co.) and can also take advantage of now and then. But for me personally, these are also only functions but which can be used from and to non-surely can include the daily TV use.

A long-term test I have not yet behind me, but at first sight or after a few days of testing, I can definitely say that the device was a worthwhile purchase.
Mainly I use the device to my T-Home Receiver and my PS3 (Speile + BluRay) and there's been all top. I also hope that everything stays as long as the device is not low grade. However, you can get for under 1000 - offered a lot here. However, if no Möglichlkeit has to get programs in HD should better look for an alternative. The unit is uniquely designed for modern video signals and give presents only this, however excellent, is.
