It is therefore with some impatience that I started with a first chapter that makes us understand that we were in for a struggle in which even the gods would be involved, the framework is installed. Classically it then enters a phase of presentation of the different characters ... which unfortunately seemed almost last until the end and was the start of a reading for the less laborious.
After closing the last page I would retain two main reasons for my problems with this book. The first will be in style, too much responsibility for me. Everything is described with so much detail that I forgot completely the history, drowned under the profusion of words which, if they give a tone very learned, in my opinion serve the narrative. It also reminded me strongly The romance of the mummy Téophile Gautier who had given me the same impression even if in the latter I found interesting backstory. Which brings me to the second negative point is the lack of a true story. I had more the feeling of reading a collection of stories that introduce myself settle for a gallery or so introductory chapters of a long saga, so I was very frustrated and surprised to see the end arrive in as little knowing in this fight of the Gods that the preamble had let me see. Perhaps he had read before "The envoy of Monarchies of the shadows" but I really had the impression all the way to miss some key to even begin to understand that what is tried to introduce myself.
I would welcome a clear still looking for work that will sometimes enriched my personal culture, but regretted not having been more likely to appreciate a style that is definitely not for me despite an environment that made me salivate.
