Contrary to the generally accepted trend towards cheap Made in China, I have for this product (made in Germany) decided. Cheap buys always says twice so beautiful.
Made in Germany means to me ...
High-quality workmanship ...
German engineer art ...
Functionality in every respect ...
a perfect product that is fun despite the higher price and lasts a long time ...
A detailed written in good German technical instructions (sideswipe at Yongnuo)
Update capability (see homepage Metz)
My Experiences ...
The Metz looks solid and of high quality, battery installation is the first time some getting used to, but after that easy. The battery cover does not exit after closing. (Dig at Yougnuo)
The flash head can be adjusted horizontally and vertically, the whole makes up a stable impression.
The guide is written in detail, in German engineer slang. That means ... a lot of information, but absolutely understandable for "logical" thinking people. The menu is also relatively quickly comprehensible, (take at the beginning of manual handy) though not perfect. I especially like the backlight which facilitates the operation enormously in low light conditions.
The flash (firmware 1.2) communicates easily via TTL with the camera, in my case, with an EOS 70 D. (all relevant data such as iris, zoom, etc. are recognized by the flash and appears on the display of Metz.)
The most interesting (and that went into the product description almost slightly below) I found the unleashed flash without additional accessories. The internal flash of the camera is adjusted as the master and the Metz flash itself the slave function. There are 3 groups and 4 channels can be set (the same as the numbering of the camera). This works almost perfectly and according to the description in the Canon TTL protocol.
Used practice, this means ... Metz flash with the adapter provided in the room, aligned indirectly to the subject and shooting in M mode, the Canon a few tests, some fine tuning in the exposure of the flash ready. After that really are beautiful homogeneously exposed images in a darkened room (eg. Christmas, at parties etc.).
I have for example. A motif in panel 8, ISO 100 photographed with 1/200 of 4 meters, the Metz stood in the same distance from the side next to me on a shelf. The motive was really nice illuminated ..
Incidentally, the Metz is triggered more quickly ready for use after the internal as the Canon. Screwed to the hot shoe he makes succession also quick series flashes. In order to check whether the subject is correctly exposed light an LED. Is in the info display values in addition to some relevant also the temperature of the flash display.
My Conclusion ...
I am looking forward to many more photos with the device, do not regret the purchase and would strike again and again ...
PS. I have nothing against China or Chinese products. But each of the productive work in Germany (ie not in the office but on tape, the assembly hall or a craftsman) should appreciate what "Made in Germany" really means. For most products, which are on the market today, should always be the slogan "Made for Germany" USER. Unfortunately, you can sometime that stuff "Made for Germany" no longer afford because I work here now times, I paid my taxes here and here entrichte.
