I bought a Sony Alpha 580 L in mint condition 4 days ago. So far I have had and the SONY SLT 77 V and previously owned a 580 that I have sold in January. Unfortunately, the image quality from ISO 400 is disappointing. Up to ISO 1600, the 580 is unbeatable compared to all SLT s. With APS C Sensors and other Alphas except VF However, the Alpha 580 owners should be aware that high-order lenses almost a must exploit the full power of the image sensor. With the Sony DT 16- 80 mm 3,5 4,5 ZA succeed all images. but dimmed to a blend stage. Otherwise there is edge shadowing. Best Aperture 5.6. In addition, I use for indoor shots Sony DT 16 50 F 2.8 aperture and there from to F 4. Simply ingenious combination.
Small drawback is the measly optical viewfinder.
Conclusion: very good camera takes very good lenses. PS. Too bad that Sony has developed 700 no camera with oscillating mirror or penta prism A. The mouse cinema to the SLT models is in the dark very noisy (SLT 77 V MK 1)
