Unconventional, Multi-faceted, innovative. True!

Avicii - that's the 24-year-old Swedish DJ Tim Berg Ling. With True now finally his first studio album will be released. Not every long-established fan will be happy with this album. What the world's No.1 - Single has "Wake me up" already announced, will be continued consistently on the longplayer.

Tim builds on unusual collaborations and sets both stylistically as well as innovative new standards. On the first single, which was produced in collaboration with Aloe Blacc "Wake me up", I do not go a further, any potential buyer of this board knows the mixture of soul, country and House. In a similar notch suggests "Hey Brother", which he recorded together with this country unknown American country singer Dan Tyminski. Again, dance sounds mix with Country Vocals - at least after the second hearing this song sits firmly in the ear.

Is significantly different, "Addicted to you", together emerged with the singer-songwriter Audra Mae and the 71-year-old Mac Davis who has written and produced songs for Elvis Presley (In the Ghetto, A Little Less Conversation): The song begins quiet and full of feeling, first created an intimate atmosphere and then increases in a dance number. Another good example of the daring style blends mountain Lings: 60s Soul vocals take dance rhythms - really big hit potential.

Definitely danceable is "Dear Boy". Here are the dance beats clearly in focus. The vocals come from the Danish Karen Marie Ørsted - before this song was rumored that Lana Del Rey would lend her voice - that's not true! This song will appeal to even the original fans especially. Also on the dance numbers belongs "Liar Liar": it begins quietly and dreamy - almost gently, in the hook you will then literally startled and carried away by the aggressive LIAR LIAR. Stark!

US music legend Nile Rodgers will shine with his collaboration with Daft Punk ("Get Lucky") liked the genre to have found on "True" his guitar sounds are represented in the same 2 songs: "Shame on me" is very different from his guitar influenced and partly reminds Yello's "The Race". "Lay Me Down" is sung by ex-musical actor Adam Lambert. More and more break his vocals track and so anything arises between funky house track and groovy dancefloor hit.

"Hope there's someone" suggests the next hook. This piece is taken from the song of the Swedish Linnea Henriksson. At least lyrically a more thoughtful and melancholic number, which has its strongest moments when retains the Arrangement. Great Voice!

But there are also songs on "True" with whom I am not yet warmed up after the first hearing. These include the second single "You make me". In between, I felt although short "levels" remembers, but nervous singing, melody and beats and just happened for me on this track not tied together - just my personal opinion. "Heart upon my sleeve" can not win me also.

Conclusion: It has long been speculated about this record. Most of the songs have long been known by live excerpts or promo mixes. Who has fallen there in the songs is perhaps disappointed, many songs are arranged differently or have even a new text. Still was a very multifaceted, experimental and innovative album that served many tastes. In addition you can hear elements of Country Reggae, Hip Hop, Blues and Soul. With songs like "Dear Boy" or "Liar Liar" Bergling remains near his musical origins. Whether its "old" fans will go along the way remains to be seen. For me, definitely one of the best commercial album of the year!
