Customer Review

10th album of Tricky already, we trust the record company on this one because it is not necessarily obvious to be in the bad boy of the discography, so 10th album, a priori, and probably one of the most successful of the lot. The themes remain unchanged, between drugs and calamitous relationships, disillusionment and isolation, yes it is the Tricky, drowned in its own juice if staff cafardeux down tempo, dub anxiety, breakbeats, jazz also a bit short sounds claustrophobic and cottony. Yet the album is more "peaceful" than its predecessors, more homogenous also making makes listening very fluid.

In terms of votes, as we know man fond of female voices and here also the album is particularly successful: Francesca Belmonte, Nneka, Dewey Rong and others are wonderful, confining unhealthy if reconaissables Tricky murmurs in the background mix. As was the case on Maxinquaye the bristolien found this album with the magic formula that makes surfing the sweet voice and air of his muses about his crappy sound, marshy, disturbed and disturbing for a captivating result.

Under the sights, the album opens with a very personal interpretation of Van Morrison's Gloria, popularized by Patty Smith Horses and fame here Somebody's Sins, while Valentine runs on a loop of Chet Baker. If you are pressed (but in this case it may not be the best music to set the background :) take an ear to Nothing Matters, Bonnie & Clyde Is That Your Life. Nevertheless, I advise you to take your time to enjoy this album, once will not hurt, claiming, correctly, the second place (first same?) Best album of Tricky after Maxinquaye.
