I have the AKG 240 MKII bought because my MKI has 240 after 17 years unfortunately given up the ghost. Since I have the clear, homogeneous and very plastic sound of 240MKI appreciated i thought the MKII would be just as good. Unfortunately, far from it! The MKII has other converter (which AKG marketed as an asset). Already the impedance is only 55 instead of 600 ohms. Thus, the MKII is significantly louder than its predecessor and takes into account the current trend of noise into account. Unfortunately, the sound is anything but convincing. The highs are so overstressed that it really hurts. After 30 seconds or less one feels to put at bay this circumstance with the EQ is an urgent need. Furthermore, the sound is very flat compared to its predecessor. The clear spatial drawing is completely absent. The bass is good, but unfortunately the sound is not convincing whole. The quality of this headset is more like a mediocre product discounter, but not what I expect from AKG - because with the previous 240 MK I have indeed shown that they can much better!
