Unfortunately not the true Real Book

Unfortunately, this 'real' Book is not the true book of the active jazz musician in the 6th edition. Since the publisher Hal Leonard - the otherwise consistently good jazz literature published - revised this previously illegal standard work to legalize it, it is no longer usable for a jam session: only an estimated 25% of the title originally present are present, the Rest was replaced by other jazz standards. In addition, doing pieces in a different key than the original (5th Ed) listed.

Although we may now assume that the composer of the title of the legal Edition get their royalties, only good is a musician in a little session: "'A Foggy Day' is with me not in it" or "title on page so and so - mark I do not "because it is a losing battle.

Conclusion: to get you started in the game after leadsheets and as 'supplementary' for the 5th edition, it is ok. For the first session but it is not recommended.
