First impression: expensive, but sensible packaging - no risk of injury when unpacking, only recycled cardboard, no blisters. The case itself: plastic, but apparently a high quality. Unfortunately, all Made in China - pity. The adapter replacement goes practically without the illustrated instructions and takes seconds. Plug it running.
Quite nice is the installation. On Mac needs to be started an installer; This queries only once, if the disk is to be used only on a Mac or Windows computer. For Mac-only mode, the software formats the drive elegant with HFS + (Journaled) new, the supplied software but remains on the disk in a folder - clean performance. All the Seagate tools can unfortunately only install "all or nothing", so it is also a NTFS driver etc. are playing - things that you usually never need on Mac. So at this point it breaks best from the rest of the installation - goes without problems. All Mac-like, this is still not self-evident at other manufacturers.
Now, the hard drive is overnight run (backup of 1.4 TB via Time Machine) and is about the operation "hand warmers warm" become - a good sign. Speed I have not measured - Time Machine takes much longer because of many system data and the internal "logistics" of the program, as it the direct copying of large files the case (large files: 9 GB in 2.5 minutes no idea if it much or little). To hear is not the disk handy.
And the 3 TB rich once for a few weeks)
