Ordered and supplied by Amazon, as always very fast! What always bothers me just as soon you have the thing, even the price is lowered again to 10, -Euro! Because there were times the price guarantee Amazon :-) Well, send it back and re-order ..... We can really be glad to get a working model!
So, for me replaces the 6842 3 devices, a Vodafone Turbobox with Easybox 803 at a Fritz box was connected 7270! Anyone who has had a Fritz box wants to have a repeatedly, so it comes to me anyway!
So now about why I write, you can be glad to get a working model !!!! You read it here in the Rezesionen also partly!
First delivered Fritzbox booted always new, constantly lost the connection to LTE. One thing has bothered me! The AVM Support to whom I had turned myself, has fewer than in 2 weeks not get the correct number! I have sent as much details and support files for error image, but nothing concrete came back from them! When the box has rebooted again, I turned to Amazon, and asked to exchange! Ruck Zuck was a new Fritz box 6842 arrived with me! Connected, configured and running :-)
Here I really praise me the very good customer of Amazon !!!
So now for the better of 6842:
- Small and compact construction with internal antennas and good reception (tower is about 2 km away)
- Low power consumption (5-6 watts)
- 4 LAN ports
- Easy configuration
- Strong WiFi with good coverage via push button or telephone to activate / deactivate
- A number of providers to choose from Dyndns
- Built-in DECT base with ECO DECT function (comes with 3 AVM Fritzfonen used with me)
- Built-in analog telephone connection, via TAE plug
- Many adjustable features like Do Not Disturb, wake-up call, home automation, etc ...
- Several apps to access the Smartphone on the box.
- And much more ...
Negatives:
- The Price !! I have 249, - Euro paid what I think is way too expensive!
- For the telephony you need in Vodafone a voice password, which Vodafone is not so easy moves out! So for me, it has been denied! Who can have a Easybox 803 this also by "Google" to find out (decode) So help
"Man" himself! My connection is Vodafone LTE Home Phone & Internet 21600
- Telephone connections: At that time, the Fritz boxes have several TAE connections and the S0 bus! There is only one TAE port, S0 missing entirely!
- When using the home automation DECT outlets the "Ecodect" falls away
- Unsatisfactory AVM Support, it is not even an original AVM firmware for the box !!!!! He was worlds better years ago.
So, that was all negative? I guess not, but more I currently falls Not one :-)
To the extent now runs the new Fritz box 6842 LTE without problems, with an analogue telephone connection at TAE and 3 DECT Fritzfone phones registered to the internal Dectbasis! Dyndns works without problems, as well as the storage of data on the devices connected to the FB 16 GB USB Stick Mini!
If it stays that way, then that's all satisfactory for me!
The speed to it varies quite at LTE as the utilization of the radio cell is just. But still a very good alternative to DSL light !!!
Last but not least, please AVM improve support urgent! So it is not at all!

So after I had only awarded 4 stars, I prefer already 2 from again! The new Fritz box 6842 makes problems! After longer duration already reenter Reeconnects on, all night, the box itself is trying zuverbinden with the LTE network, the USB memory is just as if pulled off and re-plugged reported! I do not understand why AVM a Box brings to the market which is absolutely not reaches out! I suspect AVM here has a solid hardware and firmware problem! So the part goes back again, shame really, because the 6842 is fully according to my needs! But you can immoment from buying them only advise!

Further laboratory firmware from AVM obtained regarding the disconnections! After 4.5 days already reconnection problems !!!!
Internet is logged, telephony gets no connection - telephone number is not registered! It helps only a "Reconnect" the box on the menu !!!
Unfortunately, part of the box one that does not match when telephony does not work! One well that there are, who make a point out "You Your phone does not go"

AVM wraps itself inrgend like silence, I feel! The Fritz box is currently running 4.5 days with the laboratory firmware from 25.7.2013 and then reboots or having connection issues with telephony!
I feed support with information and support files, but get only the answer:

Furthermore, the Fritz box (Vodafone Internet and telephony indoor use) does not run stable combined operation! Telephony tears occasionally die, ie Internet connection is available but the telephony connection disconnects often times without having to get it with! The Reebooten the box usually happens so after 7 days even.
AVM is not to develop a reasonable firmware for 6842 in my opinion be able to the last answer I got after 2.5 months of support sending files to AVM fails to want completely left!
Another big "bug" in my current laboratory version that is 1 & 1 registered as a telephony provider in the box, although Vodafone is my Provider! It works, but you want to make it right and change the whole on Vodafone in the telephony settings from, is GAME OVER! Telephony is not no longer registered in the Vodafone network! Remedy with me brought only importing an older backed up configuration file !!!
Sometimes I wonder whether the manufacturer also your device test times before they are placed on the market! With AVM I can not imagine that in any case!
I feel like the whole answer mail from AVM from standard text blocks exist, there is also the firmware of the 6842 LTE! Part of the 7270 copies, then a little of the 7390, ach of the 6810, we can also have a few passages reinkopieren and the rest of the 6840 ......... done!
So the Fritzbox 6842 is still absolutely not recommended!

After now another support staff has taken my case with AVM, it has already come to update other laboratory versions!
According to the version 123.05.55-26186 in October since the 29.11.2013 the laboratory version 123.05.60-26767 on my Fritz box!
Even with the version in October and a setting change in the access the Fritz box went quite well! Problems are still sporadic "re-boot" the box for exactly always 6-7 days!
As initially described, my Amazon & Internet refers evaluation of Fritzbox 6842 LTE, purely on a Vodafone LTE home phone 21600 contract!
This is where Internet telephony and complete. about 6842 and not, as in the telecom LTE contracts the phone on your traditional telephone socket in the wall !!!
Since the AVM Support was really tried the last time I increase my rating to 2 stars!
An update will follow recessions, the Fritz box 6842 should run with the new lab version more stable than previously ;-)

So, it seems with AVM in terms of firmware for the 6842 to go upwards. Since the Labor FRITZ! OS 05.60-26767 potters in my Fritz box, it has never gone as strong as now. Since the end of June 2013 I have the Fritz box 6842 now, since it is also my support ticket with AVM, with the already 2nd employee of AVM, which always announces itself quite quickly back!
Nearly 11 days, she now runs throughout störfrei (from 29.11.2013 on), a new record! No reboot of the box, or no Disconects with the Vodafone LTE network! Why not as AVM, Why do we have customers only ever test the error and report it?!? So the trend is rising! An update will follow soon again ......

As Android app recommendation I would recommend this app Box ToGo Free ;-) works very well with the Fritz box 6842 together. Call lists queries AB taxes, home automation, etc .... who has set up even a dyndns address, can also Outside of everything retrieve! Use this app also been 3 months since the current laboratory firmware works well as direct access to the web interface of the Fritz box again properly. The Free version of the app is enough perfectly.

Meanwhile, there is now an official new firmware for the Fritz box 6842 LTE. Since 13.12.2013 is the FRITZ! OS found 6:01 (123.06.01) for download at AVM ready! Some nice news brings with it, such as the removal of assessment for LTE base station, or display the estimated maximum data rate ........! So far, the new firmware is very stable (with me since 15:12:13), DNS error when logging the number were loud AVM also eliminated, which still appeared in the laboratory 05.60-26767! On the whole, the AVM developers have good work geleistet.Ich have decided with the new firmware, my Fritz box again kpl. refurnish because by the "Rüber ironing" of various laboratory versions but the one or other error has crept. The speed to, I must say it is much better thereby become! Was also finally time, that's the part of AVM a new usable official firmware released in March 2013! Slowly the Fritz box receives the "predicate" recommended by me ;-) A star update there if the box now continue going so well in the Vodafone network LTE !!

I have long written anything more, so it is once again at the time. The last Christmas update has brought a lot, the Fritz box 6842 now runs "almost" completely stable! There was again an interim update on security issues. Currently the latest released version is for 6842, the Fritz! OS 06:03 Therefore now changing my rating of 2 stars to 4 stars!

There are now as current firmware version FRITZ! OS 6.4 for the Fritz box 6842, as far as you can tell no difference to 06:03, think there are a few little things were fixed!
When the LTE network is stable, then it does the Fritz box too! ;-)

What should I write ;-) Fritzbox runs still like a Swiss watch! Telephony and Internet work in Vodafone Lte network without problems. No reboots, no failure! Everything is very stable.
AVM, it is time for a new update of new features ..... as they are already published by the DSL Fritz boxes ;-)

Since there is now 12:12:14 FRITZ! OS 6.20
The firmware could be installed without any problems and brings a number of improvements and renovations according to AVM with it.
Furthermore, minor bugs have been fixed again.
I have installed on my Fritzbox 6842 13:12:14 since FRITZ! OS 6.20, runs so far perfectly.
I hope that it stays that way ;-)
