Some has been revised for the 13.2er version compared to the previous versions. Mention may be made here:
- The Linux Kernel 3:16 comes with improvements for the Nouveau open source driver for NVIDIA cards as well as other features for Intel and AMD graphics
'Btrfs as the default filesystem (whether this is advantageous because argue the pros. At least it seems (still?) Not to be fully developed. Does not matter. There is still the possibility to use, for example, ext4)
'Network configuration: ifup is replaced by Wicked
'Live-iso's are now by default persistent
'Revised and improved YaST
'New openSUSE installation program with several changes to make installation easier and more inviting (but still with translation challenges in the German language; o))
'KDE Plasma desktop now comes with a support for the integration of mobile devices over KDE Connect
- KDE (here in version 4.14.2) has also continued to develop in recent years, and it's fun the new features and enhancements to discover

OpenSUSE Linux 13.2 is available as 32-bit also available (for multi-core processor computer) in a 64-bit variant. All new processors (AMD) are supported. Especially Linux can truly flex its muscles in the 64-bit version and that's basically operate very fast. It should be mentioned however that the desktop search KDE (baloosearch) significantly slows the computer at startup. However, this search can be disabled (-> see various Linux forums on the Internet). Slim but Suse is no longer. It also resembles the outer increasingly Windows (eg desktop effects and other gimmicks), especially if you installed the optional "Plasma 5". It offer for any but numerous possibilities to customize the desktop the way you would like it (plasma 5, KDE (default), Gnome, wallpapers, widgets, etc.).
Who might want to upgrade from Windows or earlier Suse version, which can be first with a live version do (without installation) a picture of the new 13.2er version. OpenSUSE Linux 13.2 is in my view a good entry-level system for existing Windows users, since it is relatively easy to use (although there are Linux distributions that are even easier to use / configure - in my view provides OpenSuse Linux 13.2 but very many settings and you takes a lot of programs in the form of .rpm packages on the Internet, can easily install the beginners with 1-Click function. incorporation and befriend you had to so with Windows. ... the "make friends" with Windows listened with some also eventually on; o)
Linux has many advantages: You need for example to buy any additional software, because Linux under the free GNU license has everything your heart desires (browsers, email programs, CD / DVD players, writing software, desktop widgets, Multimedia, word processing (LibreOffice Writer), spreadsheet (LibreOffice Calc, Gnumeric, ...), etc.). New software can be more than a few mouse clicks easily installed, drivers are updated automatically, etc. ...
The software / application programs are constantly updated (a fix runs on PackageKit in the background, if you want that). Even the default mail program KMail under (KDE) has been continuously improved in recent years and is in my view more user-friendly than eg Outlook).
I would hope that more people find their way to this fantastic operating system because: it does not crash, bugs are adjusted via an update, you have to look no driver in network (but sometimes packages that you want to also install), you adjust everything can what you want - so you have maximum control over the system, Linux no user data "home" sends (or so I assume, but that is not quite as safe as years ago) and this also not stored on any servers it freely available are tonnenwise software, there is no virus problems, Linux is not always new hardware required (and older devices will drive moderately supported yet), it is a very fastest and stable operating system, you no expensive burning programs, office programs or e-mail programs (etc. ) Extra must buy and not least because the Linux fans is also extremely helpful when times present little problems. I used Suse now for several years and it keeps getting better. Sure, there are little problems here and there again and again, but most of them can be solved even with expert help from the network. I'm excited! 5 Stars! : O)
