I have the original MB-D15 otherwise related, so please forgive that no "Amazon Verified Purchase" is displayed in this review. As a comparison, I used the MB-D11 for the previous camera D7000. As with the predecessors of this handle is made again for the most part made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy. This promises good handling and excellent stability. Equal first, this handle meets the expectations set by me wholeheartedly. The accuracy of fit of my copy is excellent, from the past, I had to learn that this is not a foregone conclusion even with original Niko handles. While my old MB-D11 to the D7000 still minimal wobbled when one took advantage of the camera in portrait orientation, this sitting here at my D7100 tired and almost gives the impression to melt into the camera. This also does not change if one heavy lenses, such as a 70-200 2.8 mounted. Nikon has the side guides on the MB-D15 increased slightly and the guide pin running slightly different, as the lock has been improved. All these measures ensure well that the handle has a very good fit to the camera. Of course it is still anything but a camera that has the vertical grip integrated directly in the housing, but Nikon has here, in my view, what you can expect for the price also, that perfect fit and high quality material. The "leathering" is no different in my copy of the one that can also be found on the camera. All buttons use their fill, and the AF range Stick is working properly and does not wobble. Not able to 100% is Nikon, as well as the MB-D11 already, the patterning for the EN-EL15 battery. Again he minimalstes game and can be brought to rattle. However, this is very low and you'd have to shake the camera to produce the sound of what I would describe as rather impractical. As is known from its predecessor, a battery in the camera is left, while the second is under control, alternatively 6 AA / AA batteries. Furthermore, it is also possible to remove the battery in the camera and to use only the batteries each (system battery or AA cells) under control.
All in all, I do not regret the purchase and would again make it, but it is not explained away that this extremely useful accessories must be bought at a high price. Replicas are at least for me is no alternative, since they have always existed in the past only made of plastic and not processed normally equivalent.
As usual, is included with a shell for EN-EL15 Battery, which no one else is of course included, as well as a bowl for 6 regular AA / AA batteries, and a small neoprene sleeve for each unused shell. Also one has thought back to the small hollow in the handle to "captive" keep the weather protection cover on the camera bottom.
