I had already commented on the first version of this book. After reading this new edition of "augmented" passage 93 pages to 108 pages - not a huge increase! The value for money remains exceptional and the documents of this small collection Librio devoted to the First World War are a very successful compilation work.
Verdun, a name synonymous with human slaughter; a site visit and the ossuary and you will be totally upset and convinced.
In this book of letters from soldiers to loved ones, they go to the front, they will certainly die, and they know it. So for the family, they describe what they see, what they feel, etc ...
These soldiers tell with simple words: hell. Sometimes to minimize the fear of close, they "relativize" the danger!
A book for a very small price that has its place in all libraries and should be read by young and old ...
