Thus, continued: So the box has been connected and installed by a technician. The 100Mbit are available (tested with Speedtest.net) and is super fast, the Internet connection is very stable and always clean.
The box itself, I have over Gbit LAN connected to my switch so that complete. House is supplied with Internet. What works great.
The telephony function I have set up, analog DECT phone connected, set up phone and worked immediately.
Attention: This Fritzbox has no DECT module and therefore can not act as the Fritz box "Phone" models as DECT base station. The Fritz box Cable is the hub for telephone connection, so calls can be made via the cable connection, controls the calls and number distribution and has an address incl. Answering machine and fax receiver. Missed calls can be recorded and even emailed.
Now the problem: WLAN
I had the wireless set up and run on. After about 2 days could be at once individual clients (iPhone, iPad) no longer connect to the wireless network, even though the Wi-Fi was available with full signal strength !! Started the new box and everything was ok. At first I thought that it probably. at the connection to the repeater (also from AVM - should therefore be compatible and work together) was, but it was unfortunately not. Have only the WLAN from the Fritbox used and the error occurred again. And this problem is unfortunately reproducible and can not be solved, at least not without a new, corrected version of the software is installed on the machine - and it is this, there is not yet, or has not yet been released by the Kabel BW.
Therefore: As a WLAN access point, unfortunately unusable. My alternative is now an AirPort Extreme from Apple - works great and without any problems (also with Repeater AVM)
Conclusion:
* Good Box, well made and easy to use
* LAN performance is expected for there good
* Internet connection is very stable
* Convenient telephone function, incl. AB and Fax
* WLAN module unfortunately erroneous and thus can not be used -Somit no use as a wireless access point (See also article: [...])
Would not exist the problem with wireless, I would rate the device with 5-star.
