Value for money is top! 1

Abstract: The hardware (hard disk, CPU, graphics, RAM) is at the price really great. At the moment (11/2014) there are at Value & Support at no alternative - at least I could not find after a long search.

The WLAN problems that have been reported in some reviews, I can not understand 100%. I'm using Ubuntu 4.14 and have made themselves a few tests. In fact, the signal strength is a bit weaker than comparable instruments. But for YouTube & Co watch it suffices completely. I can here no major differences to other notebooks and smartphones notice (Acer TravelMate 5730, DELL Inspirion, LG Nexus 4).
The touchpad was getting used to for me, because it has somehow Apple Macbook character.

UPDATE 1 - 01.2015: After 3 months of intensive use, I am fully satisfied. If the surfaces no signs of wear are still recognizable.
It would have been nice if the ports on the left side of the notebook would be, as they may interfere with a right-handed with an external mouse in a small space.
Meanwhile, I would have found a possible alternative: ASUS Zenbook UX305FA-FC004H black

Contraindications:
- Display brightness relatively weak
- No keyboard backlight
- Unfortunately, the device is not sold without an operating system
- Connections are located, except for the audio port on the right side.

Long version:
I've been looking for a few weeks for a suitable for me notebook with the following requirements:
* Handy (light weight)
* Strong processor for virtualization + enough RAM for image editing, programming, etc.
* Battery life min. 3 hours
* Display max. 15 inches and mind. Full HD resolution (1920x1080)
* Matt display
* Purchase price max. 800
* Fast HDD = SSD or a hybrid
* Linux-friendly (low effort during installation)
* Connections mind. HDMI, 2xUSB, Gbit LAN

Unfortunately, there is for these requirements very, very few devices to choose from. The series Acer Aspire V3-371 fit there quite well already and just came on the market. The tests on the internet have all convinced me.
An alternative event. the Lenovo U330 (various versions). As but made me the weak support deterred.

I since the beginning of October 2014 using the Acer Aspire now with Linux and Windows as a dual boot system and am very satisfied.

Approximate using the notebook to Time:
* 60% at home with an external monitor, mouse and keyboard
* 30% traveling by mouse
* 10% go without external input devices
Spent with the notebook per day on average 2 hours.

Performance / Geschwindgkeit:
There has never been performance problems - the thing starts cold within a few seconds. When you wake up after standby for about 1 second. Played I have nothing with it. Thanks to the SSD, the fast CPU and plenty of RAM to start several programs in a split second.

WLAN:
Have the router are on the ground floor and use the notebook upstairs. In between there is a reinforced concrete slab and masonry 25cm. The connection and signal strength is sufficient for video streams. I could not notice any problems.

Touchpad:
The touchpad I use rarely. It took me a few days until I could deal with it really, because on the one hand a bit worked unlike older notebooks and I was not used to that I have when writing directly under the heel of the hand, a touchpad. If I use the laptop with mouse, then I disable the touchpad. Basically, however, it works quite well.

Keyboard:
Really good stop. Have normal-large but rather narrower fingers for a man. So far, no problems detected. A backlight would have been nice. But I am not accustomed, therefore manageable.

Display: A prerequisite was a matte screen for me, because I hate reflections outdoors or in daylight through the window. It could be a trace brighter.

Battery: lasts long through. Can the results of the various tests confirm. It will be interesting but after a year. Time will tell how fast the capacity drops. In my previous Acer notebook battery was dead for at least 3 years.

Processing: Well aluminum on the lid, otherwise plastic. Display hinges seem very stable. Again, time will tell how quickly wear out the surfaces.

CONCLUSION: Really strong, small device with an unbeatable price. Could not notice any problems after one month.
