I bought it for not having to change the battery in my smoke detector for at least 5 years (although some speak of a life of 10 years for this lithium battery). Only time will tell. I see the current battery included in my detector, a simple Duracell Plus still works after 15 months of purchase. So I am optimistic. Battery quickly received. Purchased after many comparisons on different sites. The lowest price on Amazon.
