I like the design very well, and also the functionality is not neglected: The display is easy to read (large numbers) and the radio receiver works perfectly - unlike my Casio GW-M5600-1ER that ever in my apartment in Vienna has no reception (but in the cafe on the corner), the Junghans received virtually every night successfully the time signal.
That the clock is not intended for swimming, I was of course aware of before you buy, but has always bothered me a little. Also bothered me that while cycling in summer, the display has often shown strange deficits: There were phases all segments visible, so the clock apparently 88:88:88 clock indicated and only if you very carefully in very specific angle on the display saw was to realize that the segments were not all equally visible, but the correct time was still shown. This behavior has returned to normal very slowly, and in the fall of the indicator was time again normal. I thought it was a long time for a defect, and only since I have the Casio, I think it is possible that it could be a normal effect of sunlight: the Casio shows this effect on me though * not *, but the manual includes all the same expressly states that the display can temporarily darken when it is exposed to long summer sunlight.
What my quite benevolent (it just looks so very good ...) related to the Mega 1000, however, an end has set, is their lack of shock resistance: Once when I bent down to pick up something from the ground, suddenly the band broke up and the clock fell to the ground. - That the bracelet at the wrong time breaks down, of course, is bad luck, just: After the fall of only 20 cm height, the display husband an unsustainable for me Damage: Something was broken internally, and the display shows now in addition to the time an approximately five millimeters long stalactite. So I have the Junghans replaced by a G-Shock GW-M5600-1ER: There, the numbers are a little smaller and is receiving much worse, but it costs only a fraction, * is * shockproof * and * 20 bar waterproof, so well for swimming.
Nevertheless, I do not want to demonize the Mega 1000; as pure Schmuckuhr it is really nice. I think it's just a shame that they do is not something more robust - and I find them but * something * overpriced: Ultimately, it concerns only a digital clock, so something that's more economical to produce. If they would offer the usual in mechanical watches shock resistance (falling on wooden floor from 1 meter), 10 bar would be waterproof * and * at least one third would be cheaper, then - yes, then it would be in my view a perfect watch (and would get from me immediately five star).
