The variable tint (self-tinting) functions satisfactorily. Visibility is good in virtually all lighting conditions, from dusk to bright sunshine. In the really dark night, it should be rather clear glasses but, on snow Dark something right in the sunny mountains.
The speed of adjustment of the tint leaves something to be desired, but that is common in most self-tinting lenses. I drive in bright sunshine through a dark underpass, I'm out again before the lenses could brighten. If the change of light but not too often and extreme, it can live with it.
The tint bathes the surroundings in a cool, almost bluish-violet light (not a neutral density filter). For me some getting used to, otherwise a matter of taste. The view is clear and free of distortion, the contrasts are good, no problems with strong reflections. A polarizing filter, on the do not have the glasses would be the icing on absolutely clear view without distracting reflections, which is available but probably not in combination with the Vario-glasses.
The field is enormously by the large glasses without frames. Only down side and down I notice the edge of the glasses a little, but not disturbing. The bridge between the eyebrows also not interfere with the view.
The comfort is outstanding. The glasses are extremely light, thin straps are very flexible, the nose pads customizable. I feel when wearing virtually no
It can be very easy to take off and, even with a helmet, but still sits securely on your face. Even on bumpy slopes and head bowed down I do not need to worry about the glasses myself. The surcharge for the "Race" version with longer deformable ear mount is worth mE only at extreme risk of loss.
I've had some cycling and sunglasses, this one is so far the most comfortable.
The protection against drafts is good, but not optimal. Direct slipstream, but flies are also at higher speeds (I have to about 50 km / h test) safely kept away from the eyes, completely draft-free glasses is not: A small breeze in the eyes can be felt even at low speeds (under 20 km / h) that is not much more even at higher speeds. For some like that - especially in summer -. Even be pleasant, me it has something disturbed.
The fogging is very good. So far I had no fog in the glasses, not sweating in the cool morning air (below 10 ° C) at traffic lights. At very low temperatures, I could not test the glasses.
Although the glasses has a slightly unusual design, they are rather inconspicuous in the face.
How robust the light, almost filigree structure is, and how are the scratch-resistant lenses, I still have to prove.
Overall, the Spectacles gets my clear recommendation, but a small deduction for tint speed and no draft.
