Although the cable has at the relevant points a good strain relief and has a nice, angled connector, it seems, however, rather cheap and provides a halfway house from rigid and flexible represents.
The incorporated wire hanger work stable and can be adapted well - in this discipline they are no worse than those of much more expensive InEars.
The Ear casing looks cheap, but not really fragile.
The comfort is very good to me.
What awaits the buyer sonically?
Tonal falls on the R1 the prominent bass, is what emphasizes most in the deep bass and also the upper bass emphasized something - reminded here of R1 strongly to the Ultimate Ears Triple.Fi 10 (only pure vote standard in the bass range, high between two InEars worlds) wherein the UE is much more discreet about works.
The R1 bears here on quite substantially.
The upper bass shines a little into the mid-range and therefore gives voices a warm touch.
The treble is emphasized in the medium altitude, but without having any annoying emphasis peaks - thus the tweeter does not work hard or pointed.
For me, the bass is often something to present, although I can get used quite well and quickly to different sound signatures (I have for example a very neutral Ultimate Ears Reference Monitors InEar and can without a lot of getting used to time for much else tuned Sennheiser IE80 change).
A few dB less might have been better here.
On the other hand, may be a more pronounced bass in loud and frequency-masking area (metro, train, ...) as compensation for advantage. Therefore, for stationary use, I see the R1 as only conditionally suitable.
Sometimes the emphasized bass tends slightly to boom, with the rare luxury.
really laid the bass is not, nor fast, but does not have a slow finale - but here it's better than a similarly priced unclassifiable Soundmagic E10, but what is different and milder emphasized in the bass range.
Poor the mix of fixed and not really not really slow is not anyway.
For the price of the detail is good, but not earth-shattering.
Apart from the slight warmth of the midtone contrast, is balanced and voices sound natural, but the resolution could be better - solve other InEars in this price range, despite also slightly set back midrange, better here, and provide better voice clarity. For the price, however, the resolution is fine, but a Sound Magic E10 triggers the midrange considerably better.
The tweeter is, as I said, in spite of the emphasis for me not unpleasant. The detail is fine, however, as with the other frequencies also, just average.
The finale of HiHats could last longer and in Superhochton should also like to have more energy to be present - "sparkle" One looks in vain.
Really Unusual is the great space - the stage presentation is very plastic and space, width and depth are displayed very realistic and vivid.
Here I like the R1 particularly well and excels in this discipline other InEars with excellent stage presentation in the pure representation - precise in terms of positioning precision is the (priced many times more expensive) Elite but better - the impression of space and the plastic authenticity are the R1 but better.
Just as a comparison (which is based on my subjective impressions in my ears):
the Sennheiser IE80 exceeds the R1 significantly - indeed, the Sennheiser represent more depth, acts in comparison but a little contrived reverberant and instruments shown to be large.
With the IE800 is the R1 in this discipline reasonably on par, with the Sennheiser represents the stage differently and this spans wider.
Also on par, I see the R1 with the Etymotic ER-4S. Here, the stage presentation is very similar to the of R1 appears airy.
With good recordings of R1 also exceeds a UERM, with very good shots of the UE but its extremely holographic stage representation strengths then plays out.
In terms of representation of the other InEars precision, however, are markedly superior to the R1, the distance to IE80 compared to other InEars is lowest.
For music with few low-frequency signal, the sound is pleasant and reasonably balanced - uses the bass, is this to me then but a little too much.
Rein of the resolution there in this price range better InEars.
The great strength of the R1 is the hugely successful stage presentation - that is on a really high level.
With a heavy heart I can still give the R1 just four star - the bass is too dominant and the resolution of other InEars in the same price range is audibly better.
