I still step back on the landscape made but I did a lot of indoor shots and stabilization combined with good increase in ISO is actually a plus for the architecture or the outside on days of bad weather .
The sharpness is good or very good depending on the focal and at full aperture, but could still be improved to 10mm, which is a shame because it is for this that the optical zoom is interesting.
Edit: once mastered the beast and closing a bit, the sharpness is also very good to 10mm.
Overall this is a very good value, and I repeat, better than 10-22 in general (except his range smaller than 4 mm, and the lower quality manufacturing obviously).
As usual with Canon, the sun visor is not provided, sold overpriced for a piece of plastic, and I have not yet found a cheap generic.
The manual focus is a bit tricky because you have to press the trigger at the same time as the rotation is related to the STM technology, not very practical but will it.
I would later complete this assessment, but I'm happy with this purchase.
Edit:
After spending my vacation to use this perspective, I am completely satisfied with this purchase, and finally gives it its 5th star:
reasonable price but also excellent image quality in landscape and architecture.
In landscape, beware though compose his image, avoiding distant subjects that will seem tiny in the picture. In this case, prefer pan, the proportions will be better respected.
The stabilization has done its job and overcomes the opening a bit tight.
In interior design, as in churches and historical monuments or low light, I managed nearly all my shots freehand made even by opening f8.
The distortion is felt, but now Lightroom offers a correction profile with its version 5.6.
The color rendering is very neutral and does not favor blue skies as with 10-22. Vignetting is pronounced to 10mm, but can be corrected very well in the post Lightroom profile.
I am still waiting for a firmware Update for the correction in my case though I rarely use the jpg case.
Optical sometimes generates a little flare, but this is very content.
In conclusion: you throw it, it's a must-have on APSC.
