Very interested in the subject I acquired this book to me saying "another one of those compilations of anecdotes" ...
Well no! This is not it, because yes of course the author illustrates some of his remarks. However those are only a support for crediting the facts. Because they made us book. Clear, the book is very accessible for reading and extremely well documented. My assessment does not assign 5th star because for me the illustrations (however many) do not stick with the dramatic intensity of the subject. Too bad because the author nevertheless has an image bank rather rich on this topic. Yet without bias he gives us the horrors of one of the most detestable periods of our history.
Because of horrible things were happening at that time. But I want to warn sensitive souls that this book may make them spend a few restless nights of bleak dreams ...
