Lens and film shoots
Both cameras make very good shots. The resolution of both cameras is very good and there is nothing. The recordings of Toshiba are better color at the edges, where the Sony (despite Zeiss lens) a slight blue tint gets. The wide-angle and zoom function of Toshiba's great!
Anti-blur
Both Toshiba and the Sony have a very good integrated anti-blur. Bundled with Toshiba bicycle attachment tends Mountain biking trails but due to design to vibrate. The bike mount the Sony vibrates significantly less, the shots are better. Tip: to buy to Toshiba attaching Sony and already vibrates Nothing more, while recording no difference can be seen in relation to Shake!
Sound Quality
Both cameras record the sound in pretty good quality, I find this the Toshiba still a tad better.
Mounting Systems
When Toshiba Action Cam mounting options for all sorts of occasions (attachment to different sports equipment, at the helm, the arm) are similar to the Sony, but in addition also the Bike Mount (at the Sony, there is a model with only bike attachment). The fastening system of the Toshiba looks with the big screws a bit strange, but offers numerous possibilities, keeps well and can be assembled quickly and loosening as the Sony system, only the bike mount vibrates on uneven ground more (see above).
Operability
The Toshiba is my feeling with the six buttons and more intuitive to use than the Sony system with only three buttons. In addition, the Toshiba has a rear display with screen like a digital camera and the Sony is content with a lateral display, eg for the mountain biking course, can not be viewed.
Splash guard housing
The splash guard housing of Sony's despite similar dimensions of the cameras a lot more compact and has less of a target for the wind, which hardly falls mountain biking and bike mount significant in the helmet attachment are more likely. For this to be waterproof up to 60 m, the splash guard housing of Toshiba that the Sony only up to 5 m.
Tools
When Toshiba the photos on the display can be reproduced, which is obviously not going to the data display of the Sony. For the Sony has a GPS as an option. Both cameras are WiFi-enabled and can be remote controlled with extra available accessories (which I have not tested due to lack of equipment). The automatic pause function of Toshiba conserves battery and memory. The Toshiba is to use well as compact spare. You can also make parallel photographs and video clips.
Price-performance ratio
Except for the GPS The Toshiba provides at least the same performance as the Sony, but is cheaper by around 30%. In addition, the Toshiba all possible fastening systems incl. Bike mount are included (depending on the model in Sony either everyone else or just the bike attachment) and a 32GB Micro SDHC card.
Conclusion
An excellent and varied Action Cam with a very good price-performance ratio. For those who do not need GPS, a very good and inexpensive choice. Mountain biking on trails but you should specify a different attachment, otherwise it wobbles very. Wide range of applications to use even underwater. For extreme sports enthusiasts with helmet mounting the camera, I would, however, (if not the same as the GoPro) recommended due to the lower air resistance rather the Sony.
Overall, for me worth 5 stars and called for the audience a strong buy recommendation.
