Garmin Fitness vívosmart bracelet with smartphone alerts, touchscreen (Electronics)

Customer Review

I was very early when it comes to fitness bands there and had until recently a Jawbone Up !, but at the end of the battery / charging had problems and was no longer usable. Then I wanted to actually the new Up24! buy, but then realized that here an awful lot has changed. I have then a lot of current models considered by Fitbits, Nike, Jawbone etc and then I rather stumbled upon the Garmin Vivo Smart. Important for me were the following criteria:

> Reasonable battery life (1 week)
> Easy Data Transfer
> Sleep Evaluation
> Vibration alarm
> Design should not stand out negatively, but to go through as a bracelet
> Bracelet must be comfortable to wear
> Buzz Vibration

In evaluating these criteria remained for me then only the Up24! and the Vivo Smart left, where I was fascinated by the latter of the added value of the display and the relevant signaling. I then decided to do it and can I actually no longer think away. Here the pros and cons from my perspective:

++++++++++ Vibration message for signals on the smartphone
++ Comfort
++ Display
- Even software
- Wake aligns itself not sleep cycle
--------- No individual alarm times for weekdays

Ergo: the device itself is great and the added value through the integrated display makes the supplement easy bet. In business I have a cell phone often (really silently without Vibratrionsalarm, by shaking the whole table) to silent. Still, I get incoming messages subtly signaled on the wrist. Even in noisy environments such as in the car (loud music) or in the city where I have not noticed regularly calls, I miss since then nothing more. Depending on what's going on, I also can directly decide if I ever pull the cell phone out of his pocket or a later date is sufficient.

What I do not like is the software. I feel compared to Up! rather spartan. The presentation of the sleep cycles is the Up! beautiful and presented meaningful with much more information! There for example, the duration of deep sleep and light sleep phases is summarized. Also, the sleep data at Garmin, contrary to the steps number, not transmitted to Apple Health, although they are available yet. The setting of the alarm time is also a bad joke. Here you can

1. enter a single alarm, the
2. still need to either apply for "weekdays" or "Every day".

With other providers you can arbitrarily define multiple alarms and even set specifically on days during the week or other times for Saturdays and Sundays. This is useful and important. Why Garmin is working here with such a castrated adjustment remains a mystery to me. Equally, why not while raising the sleep cycle is evaluated in order to prevent an awakening in the deep sleep phase. Exactly this is actually the meaning of the alarm of a bracelet with double tracking !?

Conclusion: In general, highly recommended strap when it comes to comfort, handling and communication with the smartphone. It is an inconspicuous, comfortable and ultra-efficient everyday companion. Up to this point it would be very clear 5 Stars! However, the bad software takes the bracelet a lot of important features and capabilities gone, what remains incomprehensible, but eventually / hopefully be corrected by software updates. So unfortunately remain only grown 3 stars.
