The Camera
First Impression:
The camera makes a good impression. The build quality is good, the material makes a high impression.
The camera has the dimensions of a conventional compact camera so it is quite suitable for your pocket and for photos of water.
The spacious three-inch screen is distinguished by a sharp good representation.
Operation:
The operation of the camera via buttons arranged similarly to other cameras. The buttons are easy to press and all function properly.
Menu navigation:
The menu of the camera is quite sophisticated. All important camera functions can be accessed quickly and easily. In particular, the Quick Start function facilitates operation. This feature allows the camera with a few keystrokes for each application on land or under water set. Then various camera configurations can be selected for underwater, for example, the use with an external flash or video light.
Filters:
The camera has various filters that optimizes the images and so ensures better results. So under the water absorbed by the water colors are refreshed and thus reduces the bluish cast of the images. The quality of the images is hereby greatly improved.
Image Quality:
The quality of images has really impressed me. Even without experience in underwater photography succeed quite usable images in good quality. The more you practice with the camera, the better the results. I would however recommend the Digital Pro Flash to the camera to buy this because pictures with beautiful colors are more possible by the more powerful flash.
Taken ashore pictures have a good quality. The driving of a second (compact) - camera can thus forgettable.

Video quality:
The camera captures video in HD quality. Again, the quality is good, but the camera does not replace any underwater video camera. Those who want to absorb more videos, should better look elsewhere.
Battery performance:
The camera is powered by a battery with a capacity of 750 mAh. This keeps me in power-saving mode (camera is turned on only for taking pictures (flash however at) off between the pictures) about three dives of one hour length. Depending on how many photos you snaps during the first two dives, it may be tight in the third but then ever.
In my opinion, this power is absolutely okay, but it does not hurt to eventually have a spare battery case.

The housing
First Impression:
The case makes a very robust impression. The casing is fully rubberized and also seems a bit harder shocks put away easily. The positive processing of the camera continues the housing.
Operation:
The camera is operated in the underwater housing oversized buttons. Especially the 5 large piano keys allow easy operation even when wearing thick gloves. The piano keys provide access to all important functions of the camera, so you do not have to scroll through the menu long under water. If this ever be necessary, too, is to use thanks to the large grip zoom button that lets you scroll back and forth a breeze.
The opening and closing of the case works easily, the closing mechanism is nevertheless designed so that it can never be opened by mistake.
Insert the camera:
The camera is only inserted into the housing and this is then closed. The camera seated without play in the housing, everything fits together perfectly.
Care:
SeaLife DC1400 HD used for an O-ring, which must not be greased. This reduces the necessary care to check the O-ring for damage or Verdreckung, as this could lead to flooding. In addition, the camera has to be rinsed thoroughly in fresh water after use in salt water. This was it but also already.

The accessories
The camera comes with some accessories therefore, including a wrist strap, a cleaning brush, a diffuser for the internal flash and some more.

The SeaLife DC1400 HD offers everything one can expect from a good camera.
The images that are possible with this camera are great (if I succeed, I invite a few high), the quality of the whole set is top, I can not complain about any defects or problems. The problems that are described in another review appear to be an isolated incident. The operation of the camera is very easy, even beginners can make with this camera very fast good pictures. Taking pictures with this camera gives me a lot of fun and viewing the resulting images pleases me again and again.
From me a strong buy recommendation!
