In addition, I also like the 35 mm very happy that not everyone's thing is - for some it is not a wide angle enough for other missing a little more for the best portrait lens, and it is often said so, neither fish nor flesh. For Street Photography is my Eighth perfect, and very well suited for Nahportraits.
Let us turn to the criticisms - whereby I realize that there will never be the perfect camera, especially also each its own quirks in judging;)
What I would have liked:
- A Brighter lens. Okay, I know that you can not outwit physics, and then be eliminated and the compactness ... But a 1.4 it could have been quiet, so you would have some reserve when cropping. If you already donated one of the fixed lens, then, if necessary, with as many options as possible;)
- A searcher. With high-quality equipment is not at arm's length fumbles around - you look through, and composes the image. For other options you could use the phone or (in my eyes just ridiculous for some tourists) iPad yes then equal.
- Battery life - here should Sony at this price be accommodating enough, after one year (which is in the battery development has again a factor) possibly a "Found New Hardware" in the form of a new nachgeschickten free batteries with higher capacity
late filing.
- The lack of auto-ISO mode at M-setting.
- A slightly bent, oblique release button to prevent micro-vibrations, ergonomically seen arising from the horizontal placement on the housing roof.
These are little things on the one hand (and for some people a no-Issue), on the other hand very personal, and therefore also in the sum of value only a point deduction me.
As for the different focal lengths, however, I now can recommend the alternative of Sony itself, the full-frame system camera A7 or A7R / A7S with good heart - here everyone tinkering a setup with the objective of their choice, from wide-angle through portrait to telephoto. There is as yet little native lenses, but some old glass with manual focus (or even via an adapter with autofocus!) Blossomed on: Some Minolta, Nikon, and for me especially the Contax G lenses. Just great, it's really fun, and compact setup is also extremely. That the A7 has a viewfinder, completes the experience for me compared to the RX1 better - and the price is about 40%, which leaves plenty of room for great lenses)
Nonetheless, the RX1 is a super camera, makes perfect pictures, is highly innovative and would use a Leica lettering probably cost 10,000 euros: D I can therefore congratulate everyone who has - and 100% is satisfied. The potential to do it has.
Not for me - but I'm happy that Sony has thus come up with the idea of making a full-frame system camera !!!
