- PACKAGE CONTENTS -

The AC adapter is missing - the camera can be charged to about buying network adapter only on its own or. Interestingly, the elsewhere yet discussed App. Even Full HD movies I find interesting, but only as an accessory - even if the NEX-5, for example, promises to filter out wind noise from the movies. For me, these features are rather randwärtig because they go beyond my own "box" also. But nice that they are :-)
- Commissioning and installation -
Lens and body are plugged together, insert battery, SD card insert (is not in!). Set time etc.. Done. No rocket science. Thanks to the automatic modes you can get started right away then, if you want.
- PHOTOS -
Although I am familiar with some cameras, so my goal is always to have a camera in which I sometimes "just pull the trigger so" can and still get good photos. With the NEX-5, I even get excellent photos ... even under more adverse conditions. You certainly can here as amateur photographer not complain. Clearly one must then, however, live with the license that you have to turn on the red autofocus assist lamp - Autofocus may not namely darkness so happy; but that affects only insofar as people / Wild / ... what-so-ever knows that you just photographed. By nice correction mechanisms of the camera come anyway despite adverse circumstances best images materialize.
- Usability and ergonomics -
The operating concept of Sony feels something "different" to than what I'm used to from Nikon for example. But you can reach after a brief frown on the corresponding (shown on the display) keys anything you want to find. Really stupid you can not really do this, so I certainly would like to evaluate as "entry-level model" in a positive sense, the NEX-5. Nett made, definitely.
- MAINTENANCE AND CARE -
The camera itself is relatively maintenance-free so far. It awards an even such things as "let fall down times" or "come to something about". I do not both happen at the very beginning and I had set already emotionally to having wrecked the camera. No way: The quality, grippy housing protects the interior seems very good.
Unlike the looks in the supplied lens. Here has irritated me compared with the Zeiss lens of the QX-100 / RX-100, that there is no automatic lens cover. Here the lens SEL-55210 was purchased separately, which I think is a really good decision because the "SEL-P1650" does not just absolutely happy. The acquisition of the SEL-55210 thus makes sense here, though there are other manufacturers that can also provide E-mount lenses. So you are not necessarily set to Sony.
A special feature of the entire Sony cameras today revealed (ie no unique selling point of the NEX-5) is developed by Sony camera app "PlayMemories". The NEX-5 has since become something of a daily companion, if I do things where I expect to be able to take good pictures. For family outings, longer car trips, it is always there and supplies through and through excellent results. It has thus developed into my favorite camera - to filing can, you have to know that I am once started sometime with a Minolta 4000 and have since never adopted me really from the SLR segment. I had until recently had the pleasure of a QX-100 can test by Sony that has satisfied me like (the QX is the "Everywhere Mobile Shell" reflect each other exactly the RX-100). Addendum:
I use the camera now for almost a year and am very satisfied. The rather low price of these "savings option" the 5R justifies itself with the rather average lens, but was replaced with me anyway quickly. With a good lens, this camera makes superior images. She is still robust enough to survive even with more delicate photo sessions. So it's been repeatedly dropped me for example, struck repeatedly against discs, stones, chairs and is fully operational despite the battered exterior. Battered refers to some scratches on the housing and - most importantly - on the little resistant display.
What the "freehand" - in terms or hobby photography, so now the use of the very good monochrome mode has become established (menu selectable as a color option) with me. Here I get without much intervention into existence very good shots that can be quite impressive.
