But from the beginning: I was able to acquire the TV in an action by a local dealer as a bargain, so no Verified Purchase. So: Take it home, plug in the TV and only once by running the Setup Wizard.
First minor drawback: This comical droning can be heard throughout the facility (even during the software update, which took in my case, 5 minutes), and I can do neither silent nor off completely ... This is really annoying. The wizard itself is subdivided logically and guides the user through the individual points very well.
I had been previously informed about the best settings and found a great guide in Hifi- Forum for Samsung devices. Unfortunately I can not post the link, but simply looking for
Samsung: Picture settings or declared "the perfect image"
at Google.
However, we wanted first "Test View" and have roughly adjusted the settings.
Then came the great disillusionment: The colors were OK, as well as the contrasts. White was really white, but everything we had "softened": The image lacked any sharpness, and also the Rotate the focus knob and at all settings, which promised to bring improvement in this respect, did not help.
The image was leaked by a very good SAT receiver via HDMI, who with my old TV (PS51D550, a 51Zöller Samsung) made a fantastic picture.
We have the first accepted because I was anyway bought Burosch reference pictures (9,99) in order to adjust the TV later really optimally.
And when I then used later, I came very quickly to the cause of the blurred image: It is the setting "Aspect Ratio": This is the standard "16: 9", which to me for a 16: quite fittingly 9 TV appeared.
Unfortunately, this setting means -for me unverständlich- that the TV does overscan. Overscan means that the TV "pulling" the picture about 1cm around larger than the visible edges of the image out.
At the time of tube TV that was necessary because in these edges Additional information was transmitted (eg teletext) and this could therefore not be visible to the viewer (flickering and flickering at the edges would have been the result).
Today the television image pixel Exactly is sent in exactly the resolution, which purports to be the TV, overscan is here counterproductive because the whole picture has to be "dragged" by a few percentage points, automatically the image display and sharpness deteriorated significantly.
The correct setting for the aspect ratio "Adjust" or "Automatic", here is NOT scaled: The picture is so crisp.
Like a TV can have from the 2014 adjustment with overscan as standard, she will not reveal to me.
However, I must admit that I had linked me articles have been more attentive, I would have known it, because there is the also described.
After changing the aspect ratio I went through the rest of the test images, and what can I say: I am delighted with the image.
At the other parameters I hardly had to turn, because Samsung has very good preparation.
So all in all a great device, with this small minus the wrong preset aspect ratio.
