Sound: 4.5 / 5
In Vergelich to my Denon AVR 2805 7.1 (999 MSRP), which has unfortunately given up the ghost, he sounds very good. He sounds a little bass-heavy than the Denon (but not unpleasant), up to slightly elevated levels (above room volume) it sounds very clean. At very high levels, you realize this is something the undersized power supply. What I somewhat bemängle the calibration function, which is not in a position properly adjust my subwoofer on my boxing, so the high-cut of Subs is too high and the bass is too strong, because he as too strong with the reslichen boxes overlaps. Fortunately, I can readjust my Dynaudio 250 easily by hand. This has the Denon done better. In a not-so-high-end system, where the front-LS and satellite do not go quite as deep as my (28Hz @ -10dB) that should not be the problem with the intersection.
Operation: 4.5 / 5
Unlike the Denon I had before (X1000 and 2805) a true relief, the menu is clear and responds quickly, everything is easy to find. The preset sound profiles ("theater", "studio", ...) are contrary to the Denon to change meaningful and very fast.
The only thing I miss is a bass and treble controls on remote control or on the device itself. In's menu can be as usual only with the remote control, which would be really annoying if you lose the time and you do not have good universal remote control.
Processing: 4/5
Metal case, knobs do not feel quite so at dibasic as the Denon 2805. The Ansteckbuchsen are good (ordinary Banenstecker turning combo things as with all Denon), but unfortunately also not gold plated.
Additional Features: 2/5
The device has no LAN / WLAN and multimedia features but only moderate Bluetooth. The Bluetooth seems not even APT-X to be able, at least my Sure BT module (apt-X, BT4.0, good DAC) sounds better. But possibly is the only on the combination. The pairing function is a bit cumbersome if the phone does not have NFC. I have the Sony upgraded with a Raspberry Pi + OpenELEC so I have 300Mbit WLAN, HD video playback, Airplay, Spotify etc. for under 50, for the cheap price but would even be a Chromecast FireTV, AppleTV with it.
Scope of supply: 2.5 / 5
Only remote control + batteries, Einmessmikro and radio antennas.
No Manual (okay, would have anyway not read), no HDMI or opt. Cable (annoying), no Banenstecker for boxes connection (as usual)
All in all: strong buy recommendation!
