This is a very good closed headphones. It does not hurt the ears even if you wear glasses like me because the atria can move and adapt easily to the shape of the face. It comes with three detachable cables (a 3 untwisted meters, a 3-meter twisted, and 1.2 meters for use with a smartphone, for example) and a jack adapter that screws (great idea!) . And a bag to store everything. It folds it very well and makes himself small for travel. Its impedance is relatively low, so it does not require headphone amp, so with his pads that make sound insulation (passive), it is perfect for mobile use (smartphone). It's a shame that the cable of 1.2 meters does not have a detachable microphone for use as hands-free kit. A future version may or optional someday? The sound is great clarity in fact, as advertised, with a very detailed bass. There is also interest in letting the light in early anyway (running!) Because the bass is a bit slobbery the early hours. I already had an AKG 701 (open helmet) and I spend hours to compare the two. In mobile use, the ATH-M50X is definitely better than the AKG 701, thanks to its passive noise isolation and low impedance. To listen to music on a home amp (a Marantz), I will say that the AKG 701 is rather better for classical music and ATH-M50X is rather better for jazz, including through a more detailed bass, which play a greater role in jazz. For movies, I hesitate -D is very complicated. I think it's a matter of taste. The AKG 701 has a more panoramic, watch a horror movie with the AKG 701, if a door creaks, you will believe that this is the door to your home squeaky ... With the ATH-M50X, sound obviously is very clear but the effect is different. One last point: the ATH-M50X gives an impression of solidity. That's what I can say about this helmet after a few days of use.
