When I read some reviews, for me the question why too little bass (701) is rated as an audiophile, a little too much bass (X1) is immediately labeled as disco fun sound, even if otherwise the sound all right. Audiophile or Hifi means but actually as close to the original. But this perspective is different each of these headphones probably equally strong only in different directions from the original.
The assertion that X1 plays very deep but I can not connect. Can ever any headphones deliver differentiated, deep, audiophile bass? If yes then what and how? Listening to music with speakers that can play really deep one recognizes that in some headphones so is simply not to hear / feel. Lower frequencies you feel probably more than you can hear it. The bass is well for all headphones a discipline their design, can not really be controlled.
The bass is but now times an important part of most musical genres. If you want to play them faithfully, so audiophile, the low frequencies must be represented accordingly. Leaving this way is missing an important part of the musical piece. Some headphone manufacturers opt for the sharp drop in the bass range, the others try this disadvantage with increase in the upper frequency range to compensate. Once this step is less than the first audiophile? If there is no bass because where it should be the sound is no longer true to the original. In addition, an emptiness that is precisely when other headphones offset by the correction more or less, and gives the sound more wealth is created.
What sound is a dear, is a matter of taste. But why this should be a audiophile than others?
X1 is as audiophile as the Q701 for me. The rest is a matter of taste
