The first things that surprises is the lack of documentation for startup. I try to make a pair with my iPhone 5S, I never see the bracelet, then I try to do with my Mac, again I do not see this bracelet in Bluetooth. Looking for (much) closer detail slipped into the package I see on the smartphone and the PC drew an address is displayed: garminconnect.com/vivofit There can be a client downloader for Mac and PC and then initialize the bracelet. I use the Mac side of the specific connection dongle provided with the bracelet. Once initialized and updated (upgrade from version 3.0 bracelet) I finally got my iPhone 5S conencter with the tracker, directly through Garmin Connect application. Garmin provided two bracelets in the package, a large, one small, allowing everyone, man and woman, to find the size that suits him: a very good point! The display is really beautiful. Certainly the most beautiful and most readable display trackers that I had in my possession. In addition the display is continuously displayed as a watch, and there is no need to turn it on every visit like other trackers. Watch the counter, everything moves dynamically remaining displayed. This is really the great advantage of this tracker over its competitors. But the disappointments come fast enough. Unfortunately no alarm is integrated, suddenly the Jawbone UP keeps his advantage with particular smart alarm mode which is "the killer application" of an activity tracker, once we tasted it we can not without. It does not detect that one single layer, as unfortunately many trackers except Misfit Shine, so you have to spend in "SLEEP" mode manually. Except you hold the button, it will pass modes "SYNC" to "SLEEP" to end the "PAIR" and that should not be missed ... and here we regret that n 'there is no backlight! Can not enter SLEEP mode in the dark. It would not be difficult for the manufacturer in a future release, to change that by offering a gesture that is unique to the sleep mode and which is activated in the dark. For example set the mode "SLEEP" to "run its course" instead of the mode "PAIR" or consider a double click on the button for example. A tracker is nothing without his mobile companion. And there I still really on my hunger. As much competing applications are, or become, sublime, I think of Withings, UP, Pulse, ... so we Garmin offers a well tristounette implementation currently. It's not too serious, an update that I hope next should solve this worries. Also I hope that Garmin will provide integration with the platform Apple Health, which will be integrated into an overall management. Ultimately a good tracker, with a SLEEP mode activation mode in the dark to see with a mobile application reviewing well, and which he sorely lacking an alarm mode. The permanent display is fantastic. Autonomy announced one year for the battery is a nice touch. Garmin released a tracker next (October) incorporating an alarm mode, by cons with a range of only a few days, like its competitors ... it will choose.
