Look and feel:
************
Although I really do not like high-gloss piano finish - as it has been implemented at the DX600A I can live with it and the phone makes an extremely Send impression on the desk. The Anfass quality is also fine and the tendency for fingerprints is kept within limits.
Equipment, operation and menu navigation:
*******************************
Operationally, in my opinion should be taken to complete equipment. There may be one or the other, the missing something, me personally comes to mind anything. That's why I'm only on the used by me features.
The large 3.5 inch display pleases with good resolution and best readability. Calls, messages and most operating states are displayed well - but not a connected call forwarding. That is not only completely incomprehensible - it makes even more often that one forgets how to disable call forwarding and therefore may not be reached. This is the only, but certainly annoying flaw of this otherwise very successful phone for me. Unfortunately, none of this blatant lack has changed despite numerous firmware updates.
The keys have a pleasant pressure point. However, I miss a key illumination. Actually difficult to understand that this is lacking, especially in a corded telephone, the power supply would be less of a problem than with mobile devices, and there is a standard key illumination.
The menu corresponds almost exactly to the wireless devices in the Gigaset range and should anyone imagine more puzzles. Personally, I find the establishment and operation of the phone completely self-explanatory. For frequently used functions the phone beyond by numerous direct keys, which you can use 6 pieces free like.
The address book holds 750 entries and is likely to be more than adequate for most users. Properly awesome I find the built-in automatic reverse search! One obtains a call of a not saved in the phone operator, caller information with company and name are displayed in plain text! This course is the use of the network connection from the DX600A advance, are available on the various additional Internet services, and via the the dialing of Outlook contacts on the QuickSync software. The latter, incidentally, works very reliably. Information services such as news ticker or Emailbenachichtigung also work fine.
The DX600A is the same base station for up to 6 optional connectable handsets. In my case, a Gigaset SL78H is connected. Modern techniques such as DECT ECO Mode Plus are available and help to reduce the radiation when not in use. A phone book transfer between base station and handset is of course possible in both directions.
The integrated answering machine offers 55 minutes of recording time and can be set individually for up to 3 numbers. Here too, the establishment and operation no obstacle.
Voice quality:
***********
The voice quality is among the best I've ever seen so far. Everything is crystal clear and free of noise. It is possible that there are larger series scatterings here, because not all reviewers are satisfied. Also handsfree works very well, and also of course for the other parties is excellent.
Other:
*******
The device software is based on Linux. The phone has an automatic firmware update function. Ringtones and caller ID photos for customization and using down- and upload functionality also very flexible ad hoc. Bluetooth is integrated and provides additional connection options, such as using a headset. The use of the web interface is not described in the printed manual. It was somewhat laboriously figure out how this works. The QuickSync software I do not use for synchronization with Outlook, but to be able to make calls directly from Outlook contacts out to activate the telephony mode. This hitherto No problems arose.
Conclusion:
****
The Gigaset DX600A does a very good job! There is little to complain about. Usually a key illumination and visualization of diversions I would classify it as close to perfect. Without these features, it is sufficient, unfortunately, only for good 4 star.
