Recording TV programs to a USB hard drive DOES well. However, one can not cut the recordings, rename or in folders. In the picture-in-picture function, no two satellite transmitters can be displayed, but only one TV station + an attached source via HDMI. Who has a large video collection for example on a NAS should also examine again whether the SONY supports video codecs. To support such as: the Techisat Digicorder ISIO much more formats!
The software is ok, I find the menus clearly (although in various magazines is always that you do not find along well with SONY ...) However, the TV responds very slowly. The EPG is dynamically loaded for example via the Internet and thus always takes a while to be displayed. Here, then, prefer to use the SONY TV sideview app on a tablet for the EPG. The app is actually very comfortable and DOES since the last update with this TV. For stability: in the 3 months the TV 3x is crashed, that only one pulling the plug and wait a bit helped. I hope for improvement in the coming software updates.
The sound is wireless with the optional Bravia wireless subwoofer Sony SWF BR100 Subwoofer 2014 X9 / X8 / W9 / W8 / W7 / W6 Smart TV (100 watts) is very good for BRAVIA. Certainly not to be compared with a complete surround system but there is no need for an extra sound bar.
Amazon Instant Video also works very well - is if you have been waiting one minute to the app starts.
My conclusion: the truly great image to compensate for minor restrictions on the SAT tuner equipment. 1 star deduction for the occasional SW-hanger.
