After the first start you go through all kinds of automatic installation routines - and ready is the system with Windows 7 Home Premium (32bit). Simple applications like Office, Internet, Media Player, DivX and VOB videos (DVD files) run properly. Also simultaneously in the background running applications such as Skype, Media Player, antivirus software and firewall (eg Comodo) do not detract from the performance. Only when the same number of resource-intensive applications are open, the computer becomes slow. Very practical is the optimized Asus wakeup from hibernation, the Netbook is ready for use again within a few seconds after opening.
The keyboard has not quite normal size, so you have a little used to it - after 2 weeks but that's already well out of hand. The touchpad supports gestures, so you can for example use the well-known Apple Two-finger scrolling or associate other functions with gestures at will.
The hard disk is divided from the outset in a 99 GB and a 350 GB partition. How Asus announced, equivalent to 500 GB in reality about 465 GB and the hidden recovery partition also eats some space - real are so "only" 449 GB is available, which for my purposes but more than sufficient and me in any case, external hard drive saves.
I can EeePC 1015PN the 2GB 500GB absolutely recommend, especially because the only small surcharge for more memory, disk and faster and resource-efficient processor.
